Effect Of Different Feeding Style On Meat Quality And Grouth-Development Of Lushi Chicken

This experiment selected cage raised and yard raised Lushi chicken aged 40 weeks, 12 of each kind (cocks and hens in half). Cage raised chicken were from Lushi Sante company, yard raised chicken were from farmers. We measured the body size, weighed the weight of chicken with empty stomach, then slaughtered them.In order to study the effects on the growth performance and meat quality of Lushi Chicken raised in different feeding style, we compared the growth and carcass traits, meet quality and digestive organs of the cage raised chicken with that of yard raised Lushi chicken. The results are as follows:The weight of cage raised chickens is significantly higher than that of yard raised (P<0.05); the difference of other body sizes indexes between cage raised chicken and yard raised chicken are not significantly(P>0.05); in different raised ways, the abdominal fat rate of cage raised chickens is significantly higher than that of yard raised ones (P<0.05); The difference of other slaughter indexes between cage raised chicken and yard raised chicken are not significant (P>0.05).There are the results of Lushi chicken's digestive organs in different raised ways: all length of small intestine, duodenum, jejunum and ileum of cage raised group are significantly higher than that of the yard raised group (P<0.01). The relative weight indexes of liver, glandular stomach and muscular stomach of yard raised group are higher than that of cage raised group. But there is no significant difference between them (P>0.05). There is no obvious difference among the villous length of various intestinal segments. The crypt depth of various intestinal segments of yard raised cocks is obviously deeper than that of cage raised cocks (P<0.05). From the results of muscular free amino acids content, we can know that the content of total amino acids, essential amino acids and flavor amino acid of cage raised group is higher than that of yard raised group. The cage raised group is equal to yard raised group at the proportion of essential amino acid against total amino acid. But the ratio of flavor amino acid against total amino acid of yard raised group is higher than that of cage raised group.The results of the experiment shows that: the cage raised chicken's weight is higher than yard raised ones'. The muscle quality of yard raised Lushi chicken is better than cage raised ones at all aspects in different degree except the tenderness. Compared with cage raised chicken, the Lushi chicken's growth performance has been improved in the yard raised ways, especially the meat quality. The yard raised ways improve the muscle's flavor to some extent and it caters for modern people's nutritional concept.
