This studies was carried out to investigate the changes ofseveral metabolism of chrysanthemum during flowering and flowering reversion with cut flower cv.'Shenma'as plant materials in different photoperiod treatments. The main results were as follows:â’ˆThe chrysanthemum in photoperiod of long-day didn't form flower bud and flower. Its content of soluble sugar was more than the other two treatments all the time.The soluble suger content that didn't change in first 10 days declined rapidly 10d later. The plant treated with transformed photoperiod formed flower bud but it didn't bloom finaly. There was a vegetative bud near the flower bud which was developmental malformation. The contents of soluble sugar of the plant with transformation photoperiod decreased in the first 15 day and then increased.The content of sucrose didn't show obviously changes under long-day condition. The content of sucrose in leaves show slight fluctuation in short-day. In 5th day, the content of sucrose of the plant with transformation photoperiod achieved maximum and then decreased. Compared with the long-day and the short-day treatments, it respectively increased by 49.53% and 128.67%.The starch content of chrysanthemum increased during the condition of long-day. After the treatment, the content of starch increased by 50.96%. The content of starch of the plant achieved maximum in 10th day and then decreaswd under short-day. Under transformed photoperiod, the content of starch decreased in first 10 days and then increased.â’‰The chrysanthemum in long-day condition had a steady trend of the DNA content. The content of DNA of the plant under short-day decreased all the time. At last the DNA content was 48.3% of the first day's. The content of DNA of the plant with transformation photoperiod achieved maximum in 10th day, and in the 25th day fell to minimum which was 43.58% of the maximum. The changes of the content of RNA showed slight fluctuation under long-day condition. The plant in short-day had a tend that It's RNA content decreased in the first 5 day, then increased. After 20th the content of RNA decreased again. The content of RNA of the plant with transformation photoperiod appeared two peaks in 5th and 25th.â’ŠThe content of soluble protein in chrysanthemum leaves decreased during the experimental process under long-day. The content of soluble protein of the plant under short-day showed a trend that at first decreased and then increased. The trend of the chrysanthemum treated with transformation photoperiod first increased and then decreased.â’‹The chrysanthemum in long-day condition had a steady trend of the SOD activity and increased slightly all the time. The trend of the plant under short-day showed that it increased in first 15 day ang then deceased.The variation trend of POD activity of the chrysanthemum in long-day was similar to the chrysanthemum under short-day. They all increased during the experimental process. The POD activity of the plant under transformation photoperiod increased in first 5 day, and then decreased.The activity of CAT of the chrysanthemum under long-day condition was lower the other teo treatments. The chrysanmun in short-day had a trend that it's CAT activity increased until 20th day then decreased.The CAT activity of the plant under transformation photoperiod increased in first 5 day, and then decreased.â’ŒThe changes of UWL intensity which was lower than the UWL intensity of the plant in short-day showed slight fluctuation under long-day condition. The UWL intensity of the plant treated with transformation photoperiod had a maximum in 5th day. Compared with the long-day and the short-day treatments, it respectively increased by 119% and 39%. In 5-15 days the UWL intensity decreased and then increased again.The chrysanthemum under long-day and short-day condition had smaller amplitude of variation of the fluorescence intensity. The fluorescence intensity of the plant treated with transformation photoperiod reached maximum which had respectively increased by48% and 20% compared with the long-day and the short-day treatments in 10th day.The phosphorescence intensity of the chrysanthemum drcreased in firet 10 days and then increased under long-day. The phosphorescence intensity of the chrysanthemum under the short-day had a similar trend. The phosphorescence intensity of the chrysanthemum had a maximum in 10th day, which was respectively 207% and 131% of the long-day and short-day treatments.
