The Paeonia lactiflora cut flowers 'Taohua Feixue','Chi Fen' and 'Yinxian Xiu-hongpao' was used as materials in the paper. The studies of vase life, the rate of flower bloom, the rate of infection, the rate of fresh weight and relational physiologic characteristics in the case of low-temperature storage were conducted in Paeonia lactiflora cut flowers. The senescence mechanism were discussed, so as to provide theretical and practical basis for storage preservation period of Paeonia lactiflora cut flowers. The major results were summarized as follows:1 .The Paeonia lactiflora cut flowers had low or no rate of infection during the early and medium low-temperature storage period and had a high rate of infection in the later storage. 'Taohua Feixue' and 'Chi Fen' had a storage life of 45 days, the storage life of 'Yinxian Xiuhongpao' were closely related to the pre-treatments.2.With the extension of storage time, the rate of flower bloom, vase life and the quality of the cut flowers were gradually decreased, and the value of watching of the cut flower was greatly reduced. The vase life of Paeonia lactiflora cut flowers had some relations with the rate of flower bloom. The fresh weight rate of Paeonia lactiflora cut flowers raised at first and then declined.3.SOD activity of Paeonia lactiflora cut flowers raised at first and then declined during the low-temperature storage period. With the extension of storage time, membrane permeability and MDA content had a gradual upward trend. Soluble protein content declined at first, then raised and at last declined, soluble sugar content raised at first and then declined.4.We can see from the principal component analysis, MDA content, electrical conductivity, as well as SOD activity were the main effect of aging factors during the storage, soluble protein and soluble sugar content compared to secondary impact factors.5.Different treatments showed that the cut flowers under the pre-treatments of 3% sucrose +150mg/L8-HQL+lmg/L6-BA+100mg/L sodium benzoatewas had the slowest aging process and the best vase, under the pre-treatments of ultra-pure water was the worst.
