(College of Animal Science and Technology Yangzhou University, Yangzhou 225009) Abstract: Silkworm excrement is a very large and valuable resource , it is the coproduct of sericulture occupation. But nowdays , it isn't completely used . The silkworm excrement contains 0.8~1.2% chlorophyll , Chlorophyll is one of the most extensive existing natural pigments in the earth, and it is usually stored in the green plant. Chlorophyll belongs to the group of the porphyrin compound. It is stored in the form of carotene and xanthin. The chlorophyll plays a key role in the photosynthesis of the green plate or the microorganism. At present, chlorophyll and sodium Zinc chlorophyllin have good perspective, they are very good additive. Extraction chlorophyll form silkworm excrement and preparing sodium Zinc chlorophyllin can not only improve the value of silkworm excrement and also provid economy guarantee and social effects for multiple utilization of silkworm excrement.In the essay , the chlorophyll and composition of silkworm excrement which were in different areas , years and dormancy periods were determined and analysed . The results showed that the content of chlorophyll was 0.2~0.9% , the content of CP was 10~17% , the content of EE was 1~4% , the content of ash was 14~21% , the content of Ca was 3~5% and P was 0.1~0.3% .The Box-behnken design was be used in the essay , response surface experiments was designed to identify optimum condition. The optimum condition for extracting chlorophyll from silkworm excrements was that solvent 80% acetone, solid-liquid ratio 1:10,time 4.06h, temperature 54.4℃, under this condition the yield of chlorophyll was 6.05mg/g , and the optimum condition for preparing sodium Zinc chlorophyllin was that saponify temperature was 49.3℃, zinc amount was 2.4ml , zinc replace time was 2.0h , under this condition the yield of sodium Zinc chlorophyllin was 3.3%.Initial qualitation verification of sodium Zinc chlorophyllin was studied in the essay, the result showed that the odium Zinc chlorophyllin which was bought from the company was different from the odium Zinc chlorophyllin which was prepared in the laboratory.
