Identification On Cross-subsection Hybridization Of Tree Peony In Early Stage

The tree peony is a traditional plant in China,which has a long history in cultivation.It is loved by Chinese people and known as king of Flowers of.As the origin and distribution center in the world. China is rich in germplasm resources.Nowadays.it has been developed very well,people has created many excellent cultivars.which can be seen everythere in the world.However,the cultivars used in landscape are mainK the hybrids of subsect Vagiatea.without any combination of another subsection.Subsect.Delavayanae. Comparing with Subsect.Vagiatae,the Subsect.Delavayanae has more breeding potential.Well.it has not been fully used yet.In this paper,early stage identification of 158 hybrides of two subsection were made by morphological and RAPD markers,true and false hybrids has been found.the main conclusions are as follows:1 In the hybrids of species Subsect.Vagiatae and Subsect.Delavayanae.there are plenty of false hybrids.A lot of characters of the false hybrids basicly agree with their female parents.And the main differences between the hybrids and their female parents are the color of their flowers.Lots of new color that the female and male parents do not own.Lots of the hybrids have complex color.2 From morphological research,some characters can be found from the hybrids as follows:the disc feather-like,the carpel hair-covering,flower diameter and the leaves.However,the characters of false hybrids like the female parent.So the author believes that disc,carpel,flower diameter,and leaves can be considered as the identification foundation.3 Compared with the cultivars,there are many distinct characters on the hybrids.such as the color of flower,the total flower number of one plant.From this research,we can find that the breeding potentials of flower color and plant type from the hybrid between the,Subsect.Vagiataeand the Subsect.Delavayanae.4 From the differences,it can be found that the carpel,disc and the leaves are qualitative characters and the color of disc,Stigma and filament are quantitative characters,which can be easily effected by environment.There are obvious differences among the flower color of false hybrids,and the character of flower color of false hybrids shows obvious quantitative character.But the effects on true hybrids which come from female parent and male parent remain need future research.
