Psammophil Willow is a main plant of Sand-fixing and sand industry Developing on Ordos Plateau,it is diffcult for psammophil willow's seed to store because it belongs to short-lived seeds. In order to find sutiable storage methods for psammophil willow's seed and provide basis and guidance to varieties resources conservation for this plant. The paper selected ultra-dry methods to find sutiable method varieties resources conservation for this plant. The study metods we taked is seed collection in field, seed treatment and related indexes measured, the main research contents are anaysis on quality of psammophil willow's seed, study on Pre-humidification Treatments of ultra-dry psammophil willow's seed and ultra-dry treatments of psammophil willow's seed. The result as fellow.First, there are no difference of psammophil willow's seed quality between two source region by measured the quality indexes and chemical constituents of psammophil willow's seed, the crude protein content of psammophil willow's seed is higher than other chemical constituents of this plant, the average number of crude protein is 34.04%.Second, the gradual moisture equilibration and PEG's osmotic regulation are used for Pre-humidification seed of ultra-dry psammophil willow, the sutiable methods of gradual moisture equilibration for ultra-dry psammophil willow's seed is put the seed in RH=35% for 6 to 18 hours, especially put the seed in RH=35% for 18 hours. Compareing un-humidification seed of ultra-dry psammophil willow, there is no obvious effect on promoting vigor of seed by PEG's osmotic regulation. So we can not selsct sutiable for seed of ultra-dry psammophil willow methods on PEG's osmotic regulation.Third, the silica desiccant and forced air drying are used to ultra-dry seed of psammophil willow, forced air drying on 60℃can obtain good effect,the minimum seed moisture content is 2.42%. the time of using silica desiccant is 12 hours. From anaysis of germination indexes, the seed and silica are mixed by volume ratio 1to 2 and 1to10, the seed vigor is improved in intial 3 days ultra-dry then Pre-humidification using gradual moisture equilibration. There is no effect for seed vigor using silica desiccant ultra-dry seed of psammophil willow, so using silica desiccant is sutiable methods for drying seed of psammophil willow. The seed vigor are decreased using forced air drying, so using forced air dry seed of psammophil willow is not desirable.
