With the accession to the WTO and the more recognition to sustainable development in industry and agricultural, the state attach importance to the safety and environmental pollution of textile industry. Therefore, the exploitation of a new textile material will be a powerful solution. As the queen of fibers, the ordinary silk fabrics must go through chemical dyeing process to become colorful goods.Colored silk has contained pigment before the spinning by silkworm. The fabrics which are made from the colored silk have natural and simple color and luster without suffering the process of bleaching, dyeing and printing, furthermore they have such excellent wearing character including softer, more elastic and comfortable. So it is the really green environmental product.Once the color silk is available,it is immediately welcomed by the large number of consumers, and it caused high reconstruction from the major silk producing countries in the world. In recent years, many countries have carded out systemic research about producing colored silk by using various methods.People all over the world seem to be more and more interesting in colored silk. This article explores the method that product colored silk by adding pigments into the food of silkworm.First, choose 50 kinds of non-toxic bio-organic pigments with different structures;Prepare these pigments by dissolving these pigments into single distilled water separately, then dilute solution till the content of 0.1%,and at least 500 ppm antibiotics are added into the solution;Feed the fifth instar larva with mulberry that has evenly sprayed the solution, three times a day until the last nest;Survey the color of the cocoon, quality of cocoon and cocoon filament.Second,in order to achieve practical production,we optimize the composition of pigment additives which have successfully produced colored cocoon, find out the best feeding conditions include solution concentration and feeing time, etc. Finally,we investigate the effects of the pigment additive on leaf-silk conversion rate and the offspring.Test results are as follows:1.Five kinds of pigments have been successfully founded, and the corresponding colored cocoons have been gotten. The colors include two kinds of red,two kinds of yellow and a blue. They are named respectively as follows:Z(No.1 Red),X(No.2 red),A(No.1 yellow),K(No.2 yellow),L(No.1 blue). The comparisons of color between these cocoons show that there are no difference between male and female of the same species with feeding the same pigment. All pigments have no significant effect on cocooning time and the rate of cocooning.Analysis on the cocoon quality of each kind of colored cocoon found that influence on the cocoon quality between the five pigments is differential. The cocoon quality in district Z is slightly better than control's. The results in district A and L have no significant differences with control's.Both X and K have quite large effect on cocoon quality indices,so the results in these two areas are obvious lower.2.Different silkworm spices by feeding specific food formula can obtain practical cocoon quality grade. For L·JA×P,by feeding it with formulaⅣcan win optimal grade. According to the cocoon quality of the colored cocoon by feeding different concentrated pigment, determine the best feeding content of pigment. For Z,it is 0.1%~0.5%,and for A,it is 1%~2%.The best feeding additive time is since the third day of the age five till mounting cocooning frame.3.Feeding silkworm with different content A(1%A,0.1%A and 0%A)don't have significant influence on leaf-silk conversion rate and digestion rate. This is consistent with the above two results of the effect of A on cocoon and silk quality.4.Motion pathways and the effort of those pigments in the silkworm's body are different from each other. The entire moth body in district Z is red,and the egg shell in this area is also colored, moreover, the colorific depth are directly proportional to the concentration of additional pigment.Similar phenomenon is not observed in other areas. After hatching the eggs in district Z and surveying the series indexes,we find that except the cocoon quality of offspring, other indexes like hatching time, hatchability and the whole duration of instar are not affected by Z.
