Study On The Agricultural Literatures In Qin-Han Period

China's traditional agriculture has been developing and gradually maturing in Qin-Han period. Agriculture in Qin-Han period plays a connecting role in the whole system of China's agriculture. Agriculture in Qin-Han period inherits the essence of the 'San Cai' theory in Pre-Qin period, which lays the technical foundation for intensive cultivation in the north of ancient China and has an important impact on the development of aftertime agriculture. China's agriculture develops to a broader and deeper level on the foundation of agriculture in Qin-Han period after ecconomic southward,which makes China's agriculture system more perfect, more refined.Agriculture literatures' general distribution in Qin-Han period are as follows. There are professional agriculture books in art and literature record of history books. There are related agriculture literatures scattering in other books in Qin-Han period,such as Huai Nan Zi and Lun Heng including abundant idea and knowledge of agriculture. There are lots of agriculture data in unearthed bamboo and slips documents,such as Tian lv in Bamboo and Slips of Shui Hu Di ,related agriculture data in Bamboo and Slips of Ju Yan, agricultural rules for seasons in Bamboo and Slips of Xuan Quan and so on. Professional agriculture books in Qin-Han period, recorded in history books ,have all missed as yet,except for two re-compiled additions of Fan Sheng-zhi's book and agricultural rules for people, scholars only study the agricultural technology from which neglecting other values. Fan Sheng-zhi's book and agricultural rules for people have some philological values except for high agricultural values. As far as style is concerned, Fan Sheng-zhi's book lays foundation for the style of all-round agriculture books. agricultural rules for people lays foundation for the style of month- ordering agriculture books. As far as value of historical data is concerned,the two books give more study on history of agricultural economy,history of agricultural education and so on. There are lots of factors responsible for the missing of agricultural books in Qin-Han period,from which there are three reasons closely relating the historical context.Firstly,the idea of 'neglecting agriculture' lurks from the idea of 'regarding agriculture'. secondly,the agricultural books in Qin-Han period don't remedy the limitation of regarding technology and neglecting theory in the development of China's science and technology.Finally,the carrier and fashion of agricultural books in Qin-Han period have historical limitation.The dispersive agricultural literatures cover a wide field,generally involving all aspects of agriculture,such as the records of ecological environment the records about construction of irrigation and drainage, the records of agricultural production levels in Qin-Han period,the records of agricultural proverbs and so on. we can generally find out the agriculture and agricultural production levels in Qin-Han period,premising we combine the two re-compiled agricultural books with the scattered agricultural litetatures.Certainly,a lot of agricultural data haven't been recorded and conserved. we can learn the related issues by means of unearthed archeological data and meanwhile expect for the new archeological data.
