Breeding special sweet potato varieties with high yield, high quality and strong adversities resistance for the increasing demands of people is one of main object for sweet potato breeding. The improved variety should have good methods such as using new variety's good characters and speeding up the steps of extension, affording scientific basis during extension. In this research, the new variety longshu1 was studied by using the principles of sweet potato breeding and cultivation, crop variety test and analytical method, whose good characters and planting techniques were analyzed in this paper. The results showed as follows:Longshu1 showed some characters, such as high yield, steady yield, wide adaptability, good quality, strong adversities resistance and good synthesis characters, which was suitable for kinds of soil in south, and planting in spring, summer and fall. Yield of Longshu1 and content of include carotenoid, Vc, Ca, energy and kinds of Amino acid were higher than jinshan57, with 100g fresh roots content of carotenoid was 4637mg higher than CK; Vc was 9.86mg higher than CK; Ca was 14.4mg and energy was 838.35kj. Meanwhile, amino acid total amount was 1.24% higher than CK. Longshu1 was not only for the food but also for food processing and feed, which was a wide table variety with a bright future for popularizations and utilization. Longshu1 had high yield generational characters with strong source, high sink and well flow.①strong source. Longshu1's stems and leaves grow rapidly in early stage, steadily in middle stage and in later stage stems and leaves would not decline easily, which improved photosynthesis efficiency and increased supply sources of photosynthesis production for creating precondition for high yield.②high sink. Longshu1's roots formed in 23-28d after planted when the production rate of photosynthesis improved constantly, which accelerated enlargement speed of roots, extended enlargement time of roots, expanded storage capability of sink and enriched amount of dry matter, which created high sink.③well flow. Longshu1 had many branches, short tendril, semierect plant types and developed transfusion tissue, which ensured flow well, favor for photosynthesis production being conducted to roots in time.According to the demand of its chips and goods for longshu1's utilization, high yield planting methods for longshu1the were following .Combination 3 was selected for chips processing with planted 3000 seedlings per 666.7m2, Nitrogen application was 12kg and method of Nitrogen application was more with early stage and few with later stage,; Combination 7 was selected for fresh food with planted 4000 seedlings per 666.7m2, 6kg's Nitrogen application and K with 18kg. Nitrogen application's method was equivalent with division. As a reference, these planting techniques were popularized in the field with the same soil fertility. Furthermore, The techniques of planting for longshu1 included:①cultivated seedlings. Cultured seedlings covered film with reserved seeds with fall sweet potato left. We should enhance management of fertilizer and water and hasten formation of buds and healthy seedlings.②rational close planting and reasonable close planting. The planting stage of spring sweet potato usually was from the last ten-day period of April to early May and ended planting for fall sweet potato before autumn begins 45000-60000seedlings per hectare for planting density.③scientific application fertilizer. Early fertilization for seedlings, heavy dressing for roots sides, potassic fertilizer with adequation and post-earring topdressing in later stage, which favored stems and leave's growth in early stage lead to be steady in midstage and not decline in later stage for achieving the effects of high yield.④strengthened the field management, payed attention to preventing and cured plant diseases and insects. We should pay more special attention to insect pest of the Prodenia litura and so on in mid-later stage.⑤harvested at the right moment. Full growth period would be kept within 130 days.
