The changes of root activity and its proteomics in two different tested rice cultivars exposed to enhanced ultraviolet-B were investigated. The results showed that UV-B radiation stress increased the activity and growth of the root systems in two rice cultivars. According to the analysis of the 2-DE gel in proteomics of the root systems, 23 different protein spots in Lemont were found under enhanced UV-B radiation and 25 different protein spots in Dular. And 8 different protein spots in Lemont and 6 in Dular was identified from the the Peptide fingerprings database we had established, which may be responsible for the response of rice exposed to enhanced UV-B radiation.
