In the paper,bean cultivars cultivated in Changli were selected for cultivar comparison to choice a better variety,and the effects of two chemicals treatment on bean growth and development were studied in order to find the way that could prevent bean blossom dropping and pod dropping.The main results were as follows:1.By the cultivar comparison,'Purple bean'was found to be the best cultivar among the four cultivars tested,which were'Jiangjun bean','Wujingjia bean','Shuangfeng bean'and'Purple bean'.The time that'Purple bean'emerge seedling was shorter,the growth potential was thrived,leaves number was more before flowering,that could use the light energy and heat energy;the pod rate was few than that of'Jiangjun bean',but the flowers on inflorescence and pod number were more,so the yield was more;the time from flowering to harvest was shorter,so the harvest period was longer.2.The control of plant growth promoting agent'Savior'on the way of poor root with one bag/10kg could increase flowers number and pod rate and single pod weight and pod length and plot yield conspicuously.And the time from flowering to harvest could be shorted,so accelerating the bean ripening.3.'Savior'on the way of spraying with one bag/10-20kg was better,that could increase the pod number and plot yield conspicuously.4.Triacontanol could accelerate the bean growth and development,the concentration with 0.1 mg.Kg-1was best especially.The first and second euphylla area with treatment was bigger than that of control.The treatment increased the seedling height,and significance of difference level was best on anaphase.The bean stem diameter,plant dry matter accumulation and the index of Vigorous Seedling were increased by treatment.Triacontanol could increase the yield,that because of the col-action of pod number and single pod weight.
