| This paper based on discussion of information interaction between mass pine trees(Pinus massoniana Lamb) and Trichogramma dendrolimi(Hymenoptera: Trichogrammatidae). We studied the effects of masson pine volatiles on olfactory and parasitic behavior of T.dendrolimi systematically in this paper. We conducted some research and obtained some results as follows:Volatiles from the mass pine trees damaged by Dendrolimus punctatus were collected with the method of hexane extraction. They were analyzed by the gas chromatographic-mass spectrometry(GC-MS) and the standard samples. The results showed that there are no difference of components between non-damaged and herbivore damaged mass pine needles but their relative levels were different. The olfactory behavior of T.dendrolimi to the nine pine needles volatiles were investigated with Y-tube olfactometer and petri dishes,we found four kinds of volatiles can affect olfactory behavior, they wereα-pinene,β-pinene,limonene andα-terpineol acetate, and especially the former two componentsα-pinene andβ-pinene had a most significant effect on olfactory behavior.Bioassays to studying parasitic behavior of T.dendrolimi were conducted in laboratory and field,we mixed different compounds by these four, three or two volatiles to treat T.dendrolimi and compared the percentage of parasitism. The results showed that both single and mixed volatiles could significantly affect the rate of parasitism, and these results were identical to those conclusion of olfactory behavior experiment basically. However, there were significant or non-significant impacts in parasitic behavior of T.dendrolimi by single components and compounds at the same time. The combinations of components could not most affect the behaviour of the T.dendrolimi significantly, but a single component plays a dominant role.Through the above study, some volatiles species of masson pine tree needles which could active to T.dendrolimi were identified, meanwhile,we foundα-pinene andβ-pinene were the main substances which had significant impacts on host location behavior of T.dendrolimi.Our study is the basis of further research on the these substances applied in biological control and provide the theoretical basis for illustrating the mechanism of how T.dendrolimi find their host. |
