Studies On Security, Pharmacology And Efficacy Of Chinese Herbal Medicine Known As Qinxian Powder

Diarrhea is the most common Animal-Poultry diseases in many areas,leads to high morbidity and mortality,and often results in considerable economic losses.The long-term use of antibiotics could induce Drug Resistance of bacteria,lead to decrease of efficacy.The development of high efficiency,low toxicity,Low Residual medicine had become an urgent need to Control diarrhea.Qinxian powder of some Company is pure Chinese materia medics,which played a great role in the control of animal diarrhea.The test evaluated the safety of Qinxian powerd,the bacteriostasis in vitro and minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC) for 3 diarrhoeas pathogens, And observed control effect on piglets diarrhea and chicken E.coli disease,to supply theoretical thereunder for exploit and apply Qinxian powerd.The test involved several portions:Test 1,The security test of Qinxian Powder To evaluate safety of Qinxian powerd,the acute and sub-chronic toxicity of Qinxian powder were determined. Qinxian powerd were poured into the stomach of mice at 9 dose of geometric proportions,the LD50 was calculated with developed Karber Method.The test result indicated that there was a positive correlation between mice's acute toxicity reaction, the mortality rate and the dosage,LD50 was 176.894±22.69 g·kg-1,with 95% confidence limit 156.57～201.96 g·kg-1.Qinxian powerd were poured into the stomach of mice at the dose of 1/4,1/10and 1/25 LD50,mice of the control group were ig given saline at same volume,test last 14 d to observe and measure the clinical symptoms of the mice,weight,blood and serum biochemical indicators, changes of organises on the first day and the first 14 d after stopping.There was no significant difference between the experimental groups and the control groups, indicated that Qinxian powerd was safe.Test 2,Bacteriostatic test of Qinxian Powder Determined bacteriostasis in vitro and minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC) of Qinxian powerd, Pasqueflower powerd as control medicine,and component medicines of two compounds against Swine Escherichia Coli,chicken colibacillosis and chicken salmonella.The results indicated that,the diameter of inhibition zone were greater than 15 mm(15.3～18.8mm),much greater than those of Pasqueflower powerd, bacteriostasis in vitro of Qinxian powerd against 3 kinds of bacteria was highly sensitive,the MIC was 15.0 mg/ml;the effect of the compound was better than that of its component medicine.Test 3,Experiments of preventing and treating bacterial diarrhea with Qinxian Powder in piglet 164 50-day-old piglets were selected randomly and divided into 4 groups,the experimental groups of high dosage,middle dosage and low dosage were fed with 1,0.5%,0.25%Qinxian powder respectively,medical control groups were fed Florfenicol 150 mg/kg for 7 days.2 weeks after drug withdrawal,recorded the incidence of diarrhea.80 diarrhea piglets were selected and randomly divided into 4 groups,the experimental groups of high dosage,middle dosage and low dosage were fed with 1,0.5%,0.25%Qinxian powder in basal diet respectively,medical control groups were fed with 1%Baitouwengsan,the piglets were given a free choice access to diets for 5 days,the effects were known after drug withdrawal.The results showed that Qinxian powder Qinxian powder can control effectively piglet diarrhea.Test 4,Experiments of the preventing and treating colibaciilosis with Qinxian Powder in chicken In the experiment of prevention,200 9-day-old chickens were selected and randomly divided into 6 groups,the experimental groups of high dose,middle dose and low dose were fed with 1%,0.5%,0.25%Qinxian powder in basal diet respectively,and no medicine was added in positive control group and the blank control group for 5 days.Infected by E.coli 078 in sixth day, symptoms were observed daily,death number of each day and the effective rates following challenge in a week were record,The results showed that the protection rate of the high dose group and the middle dose group were significantly higher than that of the control group.In the experiment of treatment,14 day-old chickens were selected,Infected by E.coli 078,next day,the diseased chickens were randomly divided into 5 groups,the experimental groups of high dosage,middle dosage and low dosage were fed with 2.0%,1.0%,0.5%Qinxian powder in diet respectively,the medical control group was fed with 1%pasqueflower powder for 5 days.The result showed that the effective rate of the high dose group and the middle dose group were higher than that of the control group.The results showed that Qinxian powder can control effectively chicken colibacillosis.
