The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of paprika and SudanⅣon the laying performance and egg quality of ducks,investigate the depositional rule of SudanⅣin duck tissues,and further explore the feasibility of natural pigment substitute the chemical compound pigment.The study included three parts and the general results were presented as follows:The first part:the effect of SudanⅣon the laying performance and egg quality of ducks.One hundred and twenty Jing-jiang Sheldrake of 400 day-old of age were selected and randomly divided into 4 groups,in each group three replicates of 10 birds.The experimental ducks were fed with diets containing SudanⅣ:0,6,12 and 18mg/kg, respectively.During 30 days of experiment,the duck body weight,laying rate,egg weight, daily intake,F/E,egg shape index,egg shell intensity,egg shell thickness,yolk rate,Haugh unit,RCF(roche yolk color fan) and the blue egg shell rate were measured.The results showed that the RCF of SudanⅣwas higher than that of the control group(P<0.01),but the laying rate,daily intake,egg weight and the Haugh unit were lower than the that of the control group(P<0.01),the F/E of SudanⅣwas higher than that of the control group(P<0.01).The blue egg shell rate was lower.The duck body weight,the egg shape index,the egg shell intensity,the egg shell thickness and the yolk rate were not significant different among groups(P>0.05).The second part:study on the depositional rule of SudanⅣin duck tissues.About 75 %-79.4%of SudanⅣwas excreted out in excrement and urine and 11%-20.3% deposited in the duck eggs by analysing the SudanⅣin excrement and urine and eggs.At the 30th day,the deposition rate of SudanⅣin duck eggs was 20.33%,19.29%and11.08 %,respectively.At all tissues,the highest SudanⅣconcentration was in bile,and then the abdomen fat,the sebum cutaneum,the thigh,and the lowest SudanⅣconcentration was in kidney.We found all the livers and kidney of Sudan group ducks were damaged more or less by dissecting the duck.The third part:the effect of paprika on the laying performance and egg quality of ducks.One hundred and twenty Jing-jiang Sheldrake of 400 day-old of age were selected and randomly divided into 4 groups,in each group three replicates of 10 birds.The experimental ducks were fed with diets containing paprika:0%,0.3%,0.6%and 0.9%, respectively.During 30 days of experiment,the duck body weight,laying rate,egg weight, daily intake,F/E,egg shape index,egg shell intensity,egg shell thickness,yolk rate,Haugh unit,RCF(roche yolk color fan) and the blue egg shell rate were measured.The results showed that the RCF of paprika was higher than that of the control group(P<0.01),and the laying rate,daily intake and the blue egg shell rate were higher than the that of the control group(P<0.01).The F/E of paprika was lower than that of the control group(P<0.01).The duck body weighy,the egg shape index,the egg shell intensity,the egg shell thickness,the yolk rate and the Haugh unit were not significant different among groups(P>0.05).Up to the 30th day,the deposition rate of capsanthin in duck eggs was 5.64%,3.16%and2.45 %,respectively.Compared with the effect of paprika and SudanⅣon the laying performance and egg quality of ducks and deposition rate of duck eggs,we found the paprika can substitute SudanⅣ,and the appropriate concentration of paprika was 0.6%. |
