High yield and quality cultivation of forage corn was the main thesis of developing in line of farming and stock raising. The experiments combined test analysis with field experiment were conducted to explored the yield and quality and physiological characters of forage corn form 2003 to 2004 at total N 225kg/hm~2 condition. The main results were as follows:1. Nitrogen application at past stage was beneficial to increase the stem dry matter, Fertilizing at the jointing stage for one time and fertilizing ratio of equality at the jointing, male tetrad stage for two time could raise the dry matter of the whole plant corn and grain yield.2. Fertilizing ratio of equality at the jointing, male tetrad stage for two time could raise the dry matter of the whole plant corn and grain yield. it could improve forage nutritive value, Thinking of the biomass, quality and forage value, Fertilizing ratio of equality at the jointing, male tetrad stage for two time were favorable for increasing the yield and improvement of forage nutritive value.3. Nutritive value of forage corn was based on physiology characters, Fertilizing ratio of equality at the jointing male tetrad stage for two time in the anaphase of growth and development could increasing nitrogen content of leaf, leaf area index was higher and sustained long time.4. Increasing nitrogen transfer amount was the main physiological base of increasing grain and whole plant crude protein content. Moreover, was an important approach for increasing grain and whole plant crude protein content.5. Forage quality of the stem was decreasing and forage quality of the grain was increasing with the growth development of forage corn, there was the coordinated growth between them. Relatively good forage value at post-silk 35 days harvest could be accomplished while maintaining 93% of the maximum yield.
