In this paper, a representative wheat variety is selected, and 100 N, 500N electronic universal testing machine are used for studying the stalk of mature wheat tensile, compression, shear and some mechanical properties of the roots. Explore the intrinsic link between crops growth and Mechanical properties; find suitable crops for Chinese cultivation, then give a provision for agricultural production and sustainable agriculture.1. Study on tensile properties of wheat stalk. The results showed that: moisture content was 51.3 percent, the elastic modulus of wheat stalk is 1278 Mpa, in the natural state of dry wheat stalk, the elastic modulus is 3577.5 Mpa, the former ultimate strength is 64.64 Mpa, the scope is between 30.9 and 134.7 Mpa. The latter the ultimate strength is 77.95 Mpa, the scope is between 29.8 and 119Mpa. Stress - strain a curve is corresponding to Hook's lawσ= Eε, and it was linear. Strain is gradually increasing with the stress increasing, the load - displacement chart is linear.2. Tests on bending performance of wheat stalk. The results showed that: water content was 51.3%, the deflection is between 13 ~ 15.5 mm, the average is 13.76 mm; bending elasticity modulus is 0.93 ~ 1.21 Mpa, the average is 1.04 Mpa; ultimate strength is 2.23 ~ 6.97 Mpa, the average is 4.4 Mpa;. In dry natural state, the deflection is between12 to15 mm, and the average is12.98 mm; bending modulus of elasticity in between 0.98 ~ 1.6 Mpa, an average of 1.3 Mpa; ultimate strength is 1.97 ~ 4.56 Mpa, the average is 3.2 Mpa. The deflection of the former is larger than the latter; changes in the basic scope are similar. The average deflection of the former is lager 0.78 mm than the latter; the former modulus is smaller 0.3 Mpa than the latter. The former ultimate strength is higher than the latter, the high average is 0.8 Mpa.3. Tests on the shear performance of the wheat stem. The results showed that: shear performance of the same moisture content of two different wheat varieties is similar, the various parameters changes is basic stability, the largest shear force is about 42 N, shear modulus is about 3.5 Mpa, the ultimate strength is 0.55 Mpa, yield Limit is 0.65 Mpa. 4. Tests on the mechanical properties of wheat roots. The results showed that: stress - strain of wheat roots is not a simple linear relationship, its image is similar to quadratic function, which is part of the parabola, so the wheat roots is flexible plastic materials, it is not corresponding to the Hook's law. With the increase of stress, strain is also gradually increasing, the rate of change in the strain is gradually decreasing. Stress is between 0 and 4.4 Mpa, the size of strain is 0.2 ~ 0.22 mm, the largerst strength of the root is 1.4 ~ 1.5 N.
