Application Study On Rice Hull In Organic Soilless Culture Of Summer Squash In Solar Greenhouse

An experiment in solar greenhouse was conducted to study the effects of different organic substrates which was composed of rice hull, chicken manure and garden soil on growth,physiological property,yields and fruit quality in Summer Squash(CV.'ZaoqingYidai'). Three treatments of organic substrate were designed, rice hulls: chicken manure: garden soil being 2:1:1,3:1:1 and 4:1:1 (volume) respectively. The results were as follow:1 Summer Squash cultivated in the organic substrate for rice hull: chicken manure: garden soil with 3:1:1 grow better.Plant height, stem diameter, leaf area and leaf number of the Summer Squash increase more significantly than those of other two organic substrates.2 The net photosynthetic rate, transpiration rate, stomatal conductance and light use efficiency of Summer Squash presented a double-peak curve.The chloroplast pigment content, net photosynthetic rate, transpiration rate, stomatal conductance of Summer Squash leaves the three treatments were different from each other, but the organic substratum culture of Summer Squash which has 60 percent of rice hulls was the best.3 Summer Squash cultivated in the organic substrate which has 60 percent of rice hulls (rice hull: chicken manure: garden soil with 3:1:1) was significantly higher than the other two on root activity and nitrate reductase activity of Summer Squash.4 The fruit Vitamin C and soluble protein content of Summer Squash had little differences among three treatments.The Summer Squash soluble sugar content of treatment which has 60 percent of rice hulls (rice hull: chicken manure: garden soil with 3:1:1) was higher than the other two. The Summer Squash nitrate content of three treatments were all far from the top level of uncontaminated vegetable nitrate content.5 The treatments yield of Summer Squash which has 60 percent of rice hulls (rice hull: chicken manure: garden soil with 3:1:1) was significantly higher than the other two.In a word, The organic substratum culture of Summer Squash for rice hull: chicken manure: garden soil with 3:1:1(volume ratio) had good effection.It can be recommended to be organic substratum culture formula of Summer Squash.
