The computer management system of domestic animal production and disease supervision can boost works of domestic animal production and the standard and modern disease supervision effectively. It is one demand in the new situation of China. Standard, effective and automatic computer system of domestic animal production and disease supervision can service well for the government to manage production and supervise disease. In the study, I built one computer system of domestic animal production and disease supervision on the practical need of Jinan city.The demand and aim of the system: through the system, every supervising unit can collect, gather, compare, query and take statistics, and report data to Animal Husbandry Office of Jinan. Then through the software of Terminal Server Animal, Husbandry Office of Jinan analyzes domestic animal production and disease supervision data collected and provide them to the government.Thinking over the design demand of the system comprehensively, I select Visual FoxPro 6.0 as the developing software. Visual FoxPro 6.0 is an excellent database software and can deal with a great deal data effectively. Additionally, it is an object oriented software, and can develop all kinds of applied software.Considering the safety of data transmission and the connected server number, the classical C/S structure was selected instead of popular B/S structure in the study.Data was reported to Animal Husbandry Office of Jinan by the Villages and Towns Veterinarian Station. Then the County Veterinarian Stations incept the gathered and analyzed data from Animal Husbandry Office of Jinan. In the process, the authenticity is guaranteed and the shortest time is used at the utmost.The system mainly included such function modules, as data input, certificate management, slaughter quarantine, disease supervision, report forms print, data maintenance, the system and parameter setup and so on. The system accorded with the practical need and the management demand. It will become the very useful intelligentized tool of domestic animal production and disease supervision of Jinan.The system is simple to understand and operate, and very suitable to members who do not major in computer. The surface is clear and kind. All the characteristics make the software to use easily and freely.The software has the perfect functions of data backup and data recover. The functions insure the system against abnormal run and incompleteness of historical data. The good secrecy function of the system accord with administrative provisions of China, and can prevent data from divulging data.The system has functioned well for more the one year in Jinan. Through the system, data were collected, gathered, compared, queried, took statistics and reported to the Animal Husbandry Office of Jinan by the supervising units of villages and towns. Then through the software of Terminal Server, the Animal Husbandry Office analyzed the collected data. Data gotten through the system was provided to the government to analyze and forecast of domestic animal production. The system will play an important role to disease control and food safety and benefited the healthy development of Animal Husbandry and rural economics of Jinan.
