Pinus massoniana is one of our country important fast-growing timber trees , it bears infertile, distributes broadly, happies warmth and moist, and is the subtropics suitalbe tree . The statistic data of national forest resources in 1994 reported that national masson pine stands accumulation was 430,206,700 m~3, accounted for 4.7% of total accumulation of national stands , occupied 6.4% of total accumulation of national timber forests, occupied the fourth level of coniferous foresst . In order to develop the forest resources, it faces the most important question how to realize the planted forest management and operation reasonably. In the masson pine management and operation process, it has some questions including the production cycle to be long frequently, the area to be big, forest resources renewability to be big, the effect multiplicity to be strong, the economical predictability to be difficult, the user decision-making to be difficult, the manpower and resources to consume to be large and so on. Therefore, by using the computer technology , it formulates the reasonable and long-term managing and developing project for masson pine, providing the scientific basis and information for the masson pine planted forest's actual management.The widespread application and development of computer technology provides the new research tool and the technical support for the masson pine management and operation. At present many domestic forestry scholasr have already built the foundation information platform for the masson pine afforestation management. But, it still has not established a set complete system to specially aim at the masson pine management and operation technology decision-making strata and the use level system , which provides a complete set of cultivation pattern, afforestation decision-making suggestion, plant disease diagnosis and so on. Therefore,embarking from the pratical demand, according to the forest cultivation management standard of masson pine fast-growing bumper crop, by using model module technology, this article bases on many models including the vertical quality rating model, the masson pine growth model and so on, and constructs analysis, the appraisal, the decision model at the base of the growth model, and by using the decision support system vanguard technology , taking Microsoft Corporation's Office software's Access 2003 databases as the backstages, taking higher order language Visual Basic 6.0 as the development language,establishes a system which is with strong feasibility and high decision-making, called Pinus massoniana management computer aided decision support system (which is PMMCADSS for short). The system may transfer the model to carry on the decision analysis through the movement functional module, realize the functions from the bottom class in kindergarten information management, the vertical quality rating, the afforestation technical measure (seed source, soil preparation, fertilization, thinning and so on) to be determined to the growth predict , the benefit predict , that the economic dynamics analysis , the afforestation plan decision-making, plant disease expert diagnosed policy-making as well as the automated outputing technology for the related report forms and graphes, and realizes the model transfer management function, the afforestation decision-making support function and the man-machine interaction technology organic coupling. Through enhancing system's integrity and the explanatory, improving system's predictability and the decision-making, enhancing system's openness and the nature of plug and play, it explores a new method and a way for masson pine management and operation, and raises the administrative expertise and the efficiency of masson pine management.The system uses many advanced computer technologies including the decision support system with three part structure method, the data bank administration technology, the completely object-oriented programming technology, the structurized procedure method of exploitation, the COM model module technology and so on, between which are supplementary andcoordinated, and its openness and the technical integrated ability aspect has a very big enhancement. The system may realize integrated management of the numerous model domain question in the entire afforestation process of themasson pine,solve a series of questions of various models from the establishment to application , and realizes the forecast function, the decision function and the dynamic regulative function in the afforestation management process. The system has many merits including the intelligibility to be strong, the function to be comprehensive, the innovation to be high, the integration to be high, the operating efficiency to be high, decision-making to be strong, maintainability to be good and so on , which has laid the foundation for the construction of masson pine digital management system, and adapted the demand of modern forestry development.
