Farmland protection forest is plantation ecosystem, which can prevent natural disasters, improve the climate and soil moisture conditions and create a favorable environment for the growth of crops, ensure high and stable yield of agriculture and animal husbandry, and provide a wide range of effectiveness for the people's living standards. Farmland protection forest system is an organic whole, with the shelterbelt as the main shelter, containing more variety of forests, and protection efficiency oriented, combining multi-function and multi-effectiveness. This system has tremendous potential to improve the ecological environment and making full use of natural resources; At the same time this system changes the farmland microclimate obviously and has a positive effect on the high yield, stable yield of agriculture. It is very meaningful to develop actively the two local farmland protection forest for farmland precautions, improving microclimate, the protection of evaporation performance, the impact on the balance of water and salt, and other aspects of research, the building of the local farmland protection forest, the tree species selection and improve overall economic efficiency to provide reference. This paper makes a parallel comparative study on protective effect of Populus alba L.Var.pyramidalis and Populus popular's shelter with same age and structure in the central and western regions of Inner Mongolia, analyzes and evaluates the protective effect. The main conclusions are: two farmland protection forest can effectively reduce the wind speed within the forest; Protective effect of the Leeward shelter 3H Department is the best about shielding effectiveness; Populus popular's shelter is superior to Populus alba L.Var.pyramidalis; Two farmland shelterbelts can effectively improve the microclimate within forest; Populus popular's is superior to Populus alba L.Var.pyramidalis poplar in reducing air temperature, improving air humidity; On the basis of the improvement of forest microclimate, two farmland protection forests can be effective in reducing surface evaporation and soil evaporation in the forest. In the days observed, Populus popular's shelter reduced water evaporation 12.9%, soil evaporation 41.72 %. Populus alba L.Var.pyramidalis reduced water evaporation 7.8%, soil evaporation 35.04%. Populus popular's shelter is superior to Populus alba L.Var.pyramidalis in reducing evaporation.Comparative analysis on the role of two kinds of water-saving farmland protection forests, the results are as follows: Populus popular's shelter 198.6 m3/hm2, Populus alba L.Var.pyramidalis: 168.5 m3/hm2, Populus popular's shelter is superior to Populus alba L.Var.pyramidalis in saving water.
