| Papaya has two different breeds,as a fruit its water and sugar content was high, its nutrition is rich;as a Chinese traditional medicine there are also a wide range of medicinal value, the market outlook is very wide. Because as the Chinese traditional medicine the papaya surface is hard and the shape is irregular, there will be lots of difficulties while bisecting. In allusion to the present condition of the low papaya mechanization bisecting technique, mainly staying around the artificial to cut into half in our country, the papaya material characteristic was investigated in this paper. And a new kind of papaya bisecting machine was designed at the foundation of analyzing the domestic and international food cutting processing technology.In this paper, the principle of papaya cutting, how to choose the cutting form and the cutting tool structure, are expounded , the angle of lock-up papaya is caculated. And then the shape and size of the papaya were stated and analyzed,including the scope of the short-axis length,the long-axis length,the ratio of the short and long axis and the weight. Found the papaya which weight among 0.4kg to 0.6kg is in the majority,and their ratio of the short and long axis is 0.78 on the average.In addition, the physics machine function of the papaya were tested and analyzed, including the surface compressive strength, surface static coefficient of friction in using the MCL-L pull-stress sensor and MCK-ZS Intelligent display control device. The test provided a basis for ANSYS simulation. On the basis of the geometry and size analysis, established the papaya model using the finite element analysis software ANSYS ,loaded stresses in the different directions,including the short-axis direction, the front direction and the long-axis direction,produced the pictures of the strain and the deformation of papaya. Finite element simulation results show that, loading the stress in the direction of the front on the papaya produced the less impact on the papaya. the results provide important reference about how to choose the position of the cutter. Finally four kinds of bisecting projects which were suitable for papaya bisecting were put forward combining the papaya material characteristic. And the four settings were selected in using mistiness value method. And the 4th device was chosen for the best performance organization.
