Construction Of Wood Species Retrieval System Of Ancient Architecture And Wood Relics

Wood species identification is a basic work for maintenance and protection of wooden structures in ancient architecture and wooden artifacts. It will get the the material information of wood for providing material for the maintenance and replacement of wooden components in ancient architecture and contribute to analysis of the development of China's cultural of wood through correct identification of species.This study carried out a detailed survey and wood spieces identification about ancient architecture on Guanzhong area of Shaanxi, analyzed the situation of the wood used in ancient architecture, and collected the datas of wood properties from public academic journals.The system selects B/S structure, the database system consists of Apache, MySQL database management and PHP technology. Structured query language and phpMyAdmin tool are used to operate the database, Dreamweaver software is used to design page.The system including four parts: data query module, data editing module, message module and help. Ancient architecture and ancient tombs&ruins are listed separately in both data query module and data editing module for the purpose of readily accessible.Data query module provides two ways of enquiries such as classification and composition. Classification enquiry provides five ways of query such as basic information query, construction and component information query, species information query, structural&mechanical&physical&chemical characteristics query.Data editing module provides operation of view, add, edit and delete for cultural relics. This is the first establishment of the ancient architectural heritage wooden structure for wood species retrieval system, the database containing the results of the preliminary work. Retrieval system provides a variety of ways which can provide users with the necessary text and image information from different angles. The system can cope with cultural relics department's work, users can be quickly provided the necessary information of wood properties and enhance efficiency. The system can also provide reference for wood science researchers, which will promote the national culture and the study of history.The system will create a certain social and economic benefits.
