The study on choosing grass or shrub for protecting the roadbed of the Shuo Huang roadway.We make the germinating experimentation in the laboratory with Medicago sativa,Bromus inermis Leyss,Festuca sinensis Keng,Elymus dahuricus Turtz,Loloum m.Lam,Agropyron cristatum(L.)Gaertn,Melilotus suaveolens Ledeb,Lespedeza bicolor Turcz,Puccinellia tenuiflora,we set 10 concentrations of NaCl as follow:0%,0.2%,0.4%,0.6%,0.8%,1.0%,1.2%,1.4%,1.6%,1.8%g/ml.Basing on the germinating experimentation,we choose 4 plants which have high germinating rate.Then we make the germinating experimentation with these 4 plants when the solution's PH=7,8,9.The results indicate:under the same salt concentration(NaCl, g/100ml),the plants whose germinating rate is the highest include Medicago sativa,Elymus dahuricus Turtz,Loloum m.Lam,Melilotus suaveolens Ledeb;the plants whose germinating rate is higher include Fustuca sinensis keng,Bromus inermis Leyss and Puccinellia tenuiflora;the plants whose germinating rate is lower include Lespedeza bicolor Turcz and Agropyron cristatum(L.)Gaertn.Along with the change of PH,the 4 grass' germinating rate have different changes.Medicago sativa has good germinating rate,when the PH=7,8;Loloum m.Lam has good germinating rate,when the PH=7; Elymus dahuricus Turtz has good germinating rate,when the PH=9;Melilotus suaveolens Ledeb has good germinating rate,when the PH=7.
