The toxin produced by Fusarium graminearum could inhibit germination and seedling growth of wheat. SNP, an NO donor, could induce wheat to protect from oxidative damage caused by stress. Using the homemade crude toxin solution from Fusarium graminearum culture and SNP to treat resistant and susceptible varieties wheat, the toxic effect of crude toxin solution and the antitoxic effect induced by NO in two different varieties were studied.Using different concentration crude toxin solutions to treat two varieties, we found the crude toxin solutions was higher the affection of seed germination and seedling growth was more sever. After investigation, we considered the 1:6 crude toxin as the proper concentration for the further studying. The effects of different concentration of SNP solutions on seed germination and seedling growth showed that lower concentration of SNP could promote the seed germination rate,α-amylase activities and protease activities, however, under the higher concentration of SNP, the seed germination rate,α-amylase activities and protease activities were inhibited obviously. The 0.1mmol/LSNP could promte the seed germination,α-amylase activities and protease activities, better than other concentrations.Using 0.1mmol/L SNP with 1:6 crude toxin solution, We found the NO make effects on H2O2 contents and O2- production rate, and could promote the activities of many defence-related enzymes such as CAT, SOD, POD, PPO and PAL, implying NO might induced systematic acquired resistance. And through agarose gel electrophoresis of DNA from root-tips, we realized that NO could reduce the DNA damage treated by crude toxin solution on some certain extent.
