Ninety-nine one-day old chicks were used in this experiment. These chicks were randomlydivided into three groups: control group, defatted flaxseed group, abstraction lignan group. Thecontrol group was fed with basic dietary; The experiment groups were fed with the basic dietarysupplemented with either 2.0g/kg of defatted flaxseed or 1.0ml/L abstraction lignan.The chickswere force-feeding for one week, the experiment was carried out for seven weeks. The experimentwas base on theory and method of modern nutriology physiology and immunology, it wasconducted to study the influence of various dietary flax lignan on the growth, immunity and bloodbiochemical parameters of chicks in the normal environment, in order to study the application offlax lignan on fowl production. Results were summarized as follows:1,The average growth of abstraction lignan group was higher than the other groups.On the7~14 days and 49~56 days they were incressed 17.4% and 21.6% in comparison with controlgroup respectively, the difference was not significant (P>0.05); The defatted flaxseed group wasnot significant in comparison with control group. It was showed that flax lignan had no influenceon growth of chicks.2,On the 3 weeks and 6 weeks, the experiment groups were increased so significantly ontotal protein, the abstraction lignan group was increased 25.8% (P<0.05) and 21.0% (P<0.05)in comparison with control group respectively;defatted flaxseed group was incresed 8.0% (P>0.05) and 21.0% (P<0.05) in comparison with control group respectively, globulin ofabstraction lignan group was incresed 36.4% (P<0.01) and 30.0% (P<0.05) in comparison withcontrol group respectively.Perhapsγ-globulin was increased, but it still need further research.3,The abstraction lignan group could enhance serum insulin and T4, but they weren'tsignificant.Defatted flaxseed group had no influence on them.4,On the 6 weeks and 7 weeks abstraction lignan group had significant influence on theindex of spleen, it was increased 81.7% (P<0.01) and 76.2% (P<0.01) in comparison withcontrol group respectively, on the 6 weeks it was more significant in comparison with defattedflaxseed group (P<0.01); On the 4 and 7 weeks index of bursa of Fabricius of abstraction lignangroup was increased 66.2% and 80.5% in comparison with control group respectively (P<0.01);abstraction lignan group was incresed 33.9%,31.2%,57.8% in comparison with defatted flaxseedgroup on the 4,5,6 weeks (P<0.05) respectively; The index of thymus of abstraction lignangroup was significant in comparison with control group except 3 weeks and 5 weeks.The resultsproved that the three indexes of immune organ had enhancement.5,The tow experiment groups could increased IL-2.on the 3 weeks and 5 weeks the serumIL-2 of abstraction lignan group was increased 37.4% and 25.4% in comparison with control grouprespectively, the difference was more significant (P<0.01); Defatted fiaxseed group wassignificant in comparison with control group. The experiment results showed that flax lignan couldinfluence the IL-2, this could enhance the immune funtion of organism. 6,On the 21 and 49 days, through the results of phagocytic proportion and phagocytic index,the phagocytic proportion of experiment groups were more significant in comparison with controlgroup, abstraction lignan group was incresed 59.9% (P<0.01) and 74.4% (P<0.01) incomparison with control group respectively, the phagocytic indexes of abstraction lignan groupwere increased 45.7% (P<0.01) and 64.2% (P<0.01), it showed that flax lignan could enhancethe activity of macrophage, and enhance the immunity of orgnism.
