Drought is one of the main limited factors in maize production in China Seasonal drought during flare opening to filling stage influenced maize yields. Breed drought resistance is identified under water stress. Measure plant temperature, screen low temperature materials by infrared technology and study relationship between them, which can be a new way to maize breeding for drought resistance under non-stress condition.Study plant temperature, methods and period of measurement through flare opening and spinning period , filling stage on canopy parallel, 45 degree of canopy, ear axis and 45 degree of ear axis about 12 Maize inbred Lines; study screen and influence factors of low temperature materials by measure plant temperature, height, plant types, leaf color and leaf stage about 212 maize inbred lines; study relationship between plant temperature and drought resistance through three different environment namely soil drought stress, normal watering, field trial about 15 Maize inbred Lines; select 5 high and low temperature materials, respectively, and study the relationship between plant temperature and nitrogen utilized efficiency and grain quality. The main results as follows:1. Temperature is not only sensitive but also stable in 45 degree of canopy and flare opening and spinning period.2. There are differences in plant temperature of different gene type maize materials, especially in high and low temperature materials screened, sum to 2~40C; it has important relation between plant height, plant type and leaf color. Maize plant temperature decreased with increase of plant height, plant of erect-type, dark green leaf account for the most in low temperature materials and plant of unfolding type, light green account for the most in high temperature materials. But the temperature and leaf age has little differences about materials sow seed in the same time.3. The relationship of temperature and drought resistance represents negative correlation, and the materials about low temperature would have high crop yield. Consequently, exploration and utilization of low temperature materials important theoretical and realistic meaning to breeding for drought resistance.4. High temperature materials have high nitrogen absorb efficiency and low temperature materials have high nitrogen transform efficiency. high temperature materials higher than the low temperature ones in content of crude fat, protein and lysine, there are inconspicuous differences in starch content of low temperature materials higher and high temperature materials.
