The napus PolCMS, the cabbage inbred lines and their backcross progeny-the cabbage male sterile materile were studied by field observation and laboratory analysis in morphology and biochemistry, the main results were as follows:1. The morphological character of three kinds of materials was anynased, the results showed that the fertility of cabbage B materials was consistent with napus P lines, which stamen had basically degenerated but nectary and pistil was normal, and had the character of cytoplasmic male sterility. The plant character including bud size, open measure of flower and silk length in cabbage B materials come between cabbage A lines and napus P lines.2. Content of soluble protein and free proline in young leaves, floral leaves and bud of three kinds of materials, the result indicated that of napus P lines was little, but the cabbage A lines was rich, cabbage B materials was middle.3. The POD isoenzyme differece in cabbage A lines, cabbage B materials and napus P lines mainly occurred during Bolting and flower period. The POD isoenzyme in floral leaves and bud of cabbage B materials comes between in cabbage A lines and napus P lines, and there were two obvious isoenzyme bands Rf=0.550,0.600 more than others.4.The EST isoenzyme differece of three kinds of materials were comparared, then showed that the isoenzyme Rf=0.140,0.240 and 0.407 was the character zymogram of cabbage A lines, and the isoenzyme Rf=0.298,0.740 and 0.890 is the character zymogram of napus P lines. cabbage B materials had the isoenzyme Rf=0.740,but not Rf=0.298,0.890, which indicated cabbage B materials was partily consistent with napus P lines, yet also patily displayed own character.5. The COD isoenzyme differece of three kinds of materials were comparared then showed that their differece mainly lies in bud, which cabbage B materials and napus P lines had the isoenzyme Rf=0.250 but cabbage A lines hadn't. cabbage A lines and cabbage B materials have the band Rf=0.150 than napus P lines, that showed napus PolCMS gene lies in cabbage B materials which expressed the gene transferred from cabbage A lines6. The SOD isoenzyme differece of cabbage A lines was not consistent with cabbage B materials (B1﹑B2) and napus P lines , its bud leaves had two bands Rf=0.410,0.448 more than others, but lack of band Rf=0.314. Meanwhile, cabbage B materials was consistent with cabbage A lines, both cabbage B materials(B2,B3)and cabbage A lines(A2,A3)they had same band Rf=0.410,0.448 in little bud.
