The popularization pattern of bell pepper in Hainan had been investigated and analysed, we had selected the suitable varieties of bell pepper for Hainan and evaluated its popularization achievement. The popularization measure of bell pepper also had been summarized. Then, we had probed the popularization pattern of bell pepper in Hainan, and made suggestion in point.From 1997 to 2005, four varieties of bell pepper had been introduced and experimented in field. They are"Zhongjiao NO. 5","Baili Xiyuanjiao","Taiyang Xiyuanjiao"and"Xiangyan NO. 13". Then, we carried out the comparative trial in more than 30 places for 5 years. At last, we had chosen"Zhongjiao NO.5"as the primary variety of bell pepper for popularization in Hainan province. The accumulative area planted bell pepper in Wenchang, Lingao and Dongfang is about 25,382 ha, production value is about RMB 1,418 million, and the net income of agriculture is about 570 million. We also summarized 8 points for the new varieties bell pepper popularization in Hainan. First, make sure the introduction and demonstration experiment has been well down. Second, live show of the demonstration experiment to people. Third, think much of the guiding effect of government. Fourth, make criteria for process of bell pepper planting. Fifth, build up the demonstration place for the popularization. Sixth, train up scientific and technical personnel for the popularization. Seventh, work out the key technical problems in experiment. Eighth, unite the research institute and other relative departments.Six suggestions for the bell pepper popularization. In the first place, strengthen the guiding function of government. Secondly, increase the investment for the technical training and demonstration. Thirdly, relative departments should cooperate in harmony. Then, build up the feasible evaluation system. Further, the key point of popularization is the integration of variety and brand superiority. At last, probe into the popularization pattern made up of government, technical department, cooperation organization and farmer.We also had pointed out the guiding ideology, indicated the characteristic and the mechanism of the bell pepper popularization pattern in Hainan.In conclusion, the bell pepper popularization pattern follows seven steps: choosing varieties for the item, experiment, demonstration, training, consultation services, popularization and evaluation. And the comparative experiment, demonstration experiment and popularization are the three basic steps in whole program. Moreover four suggestions also had been proposed to improve the popularization pattern of bell pepper.
