With the development of precision agriculture and precision forestry, research on smart sprayers has been the focus. Facing the severe situation of pests and disease protection, how to promote the R&D of smart sprayers in order to put them to use in agriculture and forestry earlier poses an urgent problem to agricultural and forestry engineers.All smart sprayers are composed of hardware and software. Software is the core of operating systems, embodying the control strategy. The schedule of software development is critical to the success of an operating systems. Undoubtedly, shortening the period of software development will noticeably promote the schedule of the operating system. While the effective way to make software development more efficient is just software reuse. In the last decade, research on software architecture and domain-specific software architecture performed by the yield of software engineering has helped much to software reuse.In the hope of supporting the development of smart sprayers, the regarding theory and method was introduced into the development of software of smart sprayers in order to shorten the development schedule, minimize labors and lower R&D costs.Domain analysis to software of smart sprayers has been carried out with the BEIDA Jade Bird domain engineering method for judging the border of the domain and generating the domain model. Then software architecture of smart sprayers was offered and realized using VC++. Finally, brief analysis to the software development of smart sprayers based on 3S integration in the help of the achievements of DSSA was performed. Moreover, a GIS program and a component of GPS data extracting were developed.The paper will do some help to enhance reusability of software of smart sprayers, looking forward to quickening the development of smart sprayers, and finally pushing them out of labs to yields in the near future.
