In resent years, coming with the development of the duck industry, there are more and more duck diseases that threat the health of duck, for example, Duck Virus Hepatitis(DVH), Duck Plague, Duck Influenza, et al. The interferon system is the first line of defense against viral infection in organism. Antibodies and alexins only exist in serum, so they have no effect on endocyto virus, while interferon is a sort of proteins with the functions of antiviral and immune modification which are naturally produced by organism's immune system immediately following infection or vaccination, besides, organism can resist other virus' attack in 1-3 weeks after infection. Interferon is classified to two types account to the diversity of amino acid sequence, the antigenic and the producing cells. Interferon alpha and interferon beta are the major members of type I interferon and the type II interferon is just interferon gamma. Type I interferon is famous as the potent antiviral activity and interferon gamma manifested stronger immune modification activity besides antiviral activity. Since 1986, recombinant human interferon has been successfully used to cure the viral infection and tumor diseases, especially in Human Virus Hepatitis. However, the studies of animals' interferon are far behind that of human's, they are mainly on the basic and theoretical research stages, and most of them are focus on pig, chick and fish, in recent years, the antiviral function and vaccine adjuvant activity of duck interferon were found and conformed in many studies.
