On-line Testing Of The Moisture Content Of Veneer Based On Microwave Technique System

The moisture content of Veneer has some relation with the character of LVL, especially in the processing of LVL. So the testing of it is an important means to control the quality of the LVL. In addition, it has profound influence on each phase in the process. The system of nondestructive testing of moisture content of veneer with microwave has been designed in this paper, to insure the precision of the testing of the moisture content in the process. A single chip controlled by digital detector based on the principle of microwave attenuation constant has been introduced. It has been shown that it can test moisture content of veneer on-line, with its nondestructive, far-reaching, color-proof and accurate features, and it can show the value of the moisture content. Compared with other ways of testing, it is convenient, speedy, precise, and so on. It fits process of on-line nondestructive testing and thus can improve the quality of the LVL.
