Detection And Investigation Of Bovine, Sheep And Goat-derived Material In Feed In Shaanxi Province

In the middle of 1980s, the first Mad Cow Diseasescase(MCD) was occurred in Britain, then infected extensively in the country, and even transmitted to neighbouring countries. The spreading of MCD had brought strong influence and losing in cattle raising, feed industry, beef and its products, at the same time, it deeply threatened the life and health of mankind. It always thinked that application of the feed containd bovine, sheep and goat-derived materials was the main way transmitted MCD. So the detection of bovine, sheep and goat-derived material in feed peroducts had become the major method to against the disease.Choosed the real-time QPCR to detect the enterprises and cows and sheep farms, which can produce, manage or applicate the in 7 districts of Shaanxi province, and sample and investigate the products. The result shows that the qualified rate was 98.72% in 235 farms; the qualified rate was 96.22% in 53 manufacturers; the qualified rate was 100% in 40 management bussiness; and the total qualified rate was 98.47% in 328 feeds enterprises.The result of detection on feed products shows that the qualified rate was 98.75% in 400 batches ruminant feed and animal-derived material feed. Among these products, the qualified rate was 98.63% in 364 batches ruminant feed and the qualified rate was 100% in 36 batches animal-derived material feed. In the 5 batches unqualified products, 2 batches are concentrated feed for cattle and sheep, 3 batches are concentrated feed only for cattle; and 2 batches contain bovine, sheep and goat-derived material, 3 batches simply contain bovine-derived material.Combining the result of the detection on bovine, sheep and goat-derived material in the last two years can shows that the quality of feed peroducts was continually improving year by year, and the quality consciousness of enterprises was also continued strengthening. However, a very few of enterprises were still violating the rules to applicate bovine, sheep and goat-derived material, and part of farms lacked of knowledge in laws and regulations, which mast be further ensure the propaganda and supervision.
