Nineteen microsatellite loci were selected for goose genome analysis in this study. The Taihu Goose microsatellite DNA was amplified using PCR technique to examine the genetic structure and relationship between microsatellite DNA markers and growth traits including body weight of 0~10 weeks of age and body size at 10 weeks of age. Multi-comparison of different genotypes in each microsatellite locus was made; Developmental profile of Taihu Goose and the correlation between the growth traits were analyzed. The results showed that ten microsatellite loci were polymorphic and the others were singlet state. The average number of alleles detected by a pair of primers was 4.5(3~6).The average value of population heterzygosity was 0.6043 (0.5460~0.7675), and polymorphism information content (PIC) was 0.6629 (0.4667~0.7371) .Average effective number of alleles was 3.1597 (2.2027~4.3008) .Correlation analysis indicated that 3 loci (CKW21, G06 and G07) were significantly correlated to growth traits. The CKW21 marker has a significant difference in weight at 4,8 weeks of age. The G06 and G07 loci has a significant difference in stem length and shank length respectively. The effect of different genotypes on growth traits was analyzed, with AD and AB, DD type of the CKW21 being significantly correlated to body weight at 4 and 8 weeks of age, CD type of G06 being significantly correlated to stem length and sternum length, and DE and AD, BE, CD, DF type of G07 being significantly correlated to shank length.Multi-comparison of different genotypes was made in the other microsatellite locus. Individuals with genotype AC of G12 showed their significantly higher liveweights at 4, 5 and 8 weeks of age than that of genotype BE, CE and DE. Individuals with genotype AC of CKW12 suggested their significantly lower birthweights than that of genotype CC and CD.According to correlation between the growth traits: the correlation of body weight among each week was significant (p<0.05) or best significant (p<0.01) ,and it was stronger between the nearly weeks. The correlation between the neck length, stem length and sternum length were significant (p<0.05) .
