Prevention of forest fire is a tough and long-term job that includes avoiding the occurrence and extension of forest fire, guarding against and putting out the fire. Building an effective and reliable fire-detecting network is an important part of prevention of forest fire. There are four forms of forest fire detection, and they are patrolling on the ground, observing on the watchtower, patrolling in the air and detection by the satellite from the outer space.Beijing Western Mountain Forestry Farm is an ecotypic commonweal state forestry farm that mainly aims at creating and protecting the forest for scenery. Prevention of the forest fire is of great importance and particularity because of the uniqe location and the character of typical city woods of the forestry farm. At present, observing on the watchtower and patrolling on the ground are the main forms of detection. This paper gives evaluation of visible region and optimization analysis to the distribution of detecting spots in the forestry farm. This paper mainly accomplishs such tasks: building digital DEM of Western Mountain Forestry Farm according to the map of the forestry farm, bringing forward the main elements and index for evaluating the detecting spots, designing and developing the software for analyzing the detecting spots in the forestry farm. As a module of forest...
