Desertification is the significant global environmental problem that current mankind is faced with, which puzzles the survival and development of human society. China is the one of serious desertification countries in the world. Soil wind erosion is the primary form of desertification. According to the basic principle of wind-sand physics, aerodynamics and mathematics, this paper compared sandy land without vegetation and ground with vegetation from the study of wind-sand physics, which contained the wind-field and the wind-energy. Mechanism between vegetation coverage and soil wind erosion was studied by quantification and the results showed:1.The wind velocity increased with the increase of height on bare sandy land under neutrosphere, but the roughness decreased with the increase of wind velocity, which was not so significant that it could be ignored.2.When a single plant vegetated on the ground, the wind moved in a circle. However there was a little energy bared because of the plant's transverse area. When a plant community vegetated on the ground, the roughness was changed because of the coverage and the height of plant, and the energy of wind because of the density and the interstitial-degree.3. Different vegetation had different protecting effect of breaking wind and fixing sand. Based on observation, the vegetation, which contained arbor, shrub and grass, protected the farm soil most obviously, the vegetation, which contained shrub and grass, was better than the vegetation, which contained only grass.
