From October 2005 to May 2005,through precipitation monitoring, farmer hosehold survey, satistic analyzing, groundwater and water monitoring, this dissertation made a systematical and in-depth study on the use of fertilizer and the water contamination from nitrogen. The site of this reseatch located in the Yi Tong river basin. The main purpose of the research is to show that the use levels of fertilizer and to evaluate actual groundwater and surface water contamination of nitrogen. Base on this research, it can provide some opponion about agricltural production and water protect. The research show that the field crop is the mainly crop. And complex fertilizer is more used than organic fertilizer in the sites of inquisition. The most of farmer hosehold use fertilizer once a year.Through inquisition in that region show that alomost nobody know that the content of nitrate rising because of fertilizer application in vegetables.Furthemore, nobody know that the nitrate rising in groundwater by the use of fertilizer. The result showed that groundwater contamination had existed in this area. The average content of MO3--N was 5.36mg/L and the highest content was 41.3mg/L.The samples which content were higher than 10mg/L were 12.7% of total samples. The average content of NH4+—N in groundwater was 0.787mg/L in this research and its range from 0.06 to 14.9mg/L.The samples in which the content of NH4+— N were higher than 0.5mg/L were 63.3 percent of total samples. The research showed that the average content of NO2-— N in the groundwater was 0.425mg/L and its content range from 0.06-0.519mg/L The samples was higher than 0.1mg/L were 66.5% of the total samples. During May 2005 to October 2005,this research had done six times inquisition and took 270 samples in 15 sites of that area. The result indicated that the content of nitrate in surface water was not high and its average content is 0.681mg/L,ranging from 0.02-2.75mg/L.The 270 samples were lower than 4mg/L and the contents of them...
