Interspecies cross is an important method to produce new species and new germplasm, and through interspecies cross some beneficial characters recombination which could not be obtained from general hybridization would be realized. So it would provide materials for breaking through in cotton breeding. Interspecies crosses of two species or three species between Gossypium hirsutum with G. arboreum, G. stocksii, Gossypium hirsutum 'race latifolium', G. barbadense, G. raimondii, G. tomentosum, G. armourianum, G. herbaceum and lines of Bt transformation were finished and the offspring were self-cross and cultivated for years. And some germplasm with stable agronomic traits were selected in this study.Analysis were applied in factors which influenced cotton yield like following time, seed cotton yield , weight of boll, lint percentage. The quality of fiber was evaluated through test characters like length, consistency, specific strength, tensibility and micronaire value. Moreover, investigations were applied in resistance to pink bollworm, spider mite and fusarium wilt of these materials. The results showed factors like the weight of boll, lint percentage which affected yield were lower in offspring. But the quality of the fiber was improved in general. Material from lines of Bt transformation and lines of 6×(G. hirsutwn×G. raimondii)×G. hirsutum had better resistance to stresses. According to quality of fiber, yield and resistance, four materials with complementary better characters were selected. They were the NO. 2103 from lines of 4×(G. arboreum×G. stocksii)×G. hirsutum, NO. 2133 and 2139 from 6×(G. hirsutum×G. raimondii)×G. hirsutum and NO. 2127 from lines of Bt transformation. So it is effective to cultivar new germplasm with great characters and rich the genetic evaluation of cotton through interspecies cross. The characters which affected yield of offspring may be improved through backcross with upland cotton to obtain high quality and yield material. Some methods which may influence the results were also discussed.
