Emilia sonchifolia is a traditional medicine wild herb and a developing vegetable. It was grown widely in Nanning and Liuzhou in Gaungxi recently. Disease problem has become the significant in E. sonchifolia growing industry. The results of disease investigation and pathogens identification showed that 9 diseases occurrence on E. sonchifolia in Gaungxi. There were rust (Coleosporium sp.), bacterium wilt [Ralstonia solanacearum (Smith) Yabuuchi et al.], leaf spot [Corynespora cassiicola (Berk, et Curt.) Wei], grey mold [Botryotinia fuckeliana (de Bary) Whetzel], black spot [Alternaria longipes (Ell. et Ev.) Mason], leaf spot and blight (Septoria glycines Hei), anthracnose [Glomerella cingulata (Stonem.) Spaulding et Schrenk], stems blight [Diaporthe phaseolorum (Cke. et Ell.) Sacc] and sclerotiorum [Sclerotinia sclerotiorum (Lib.) de Bary]. These diseases were first reported in China.Leaf spot is the most important disease on E. sonchifolia, its pathogen was C. cassiicola, which infect leaves and stems. They cause blight. So a further study on its pathogen was maked. The results of biological characters of C. cassiicola indicated that the most suitable temperature and pH for mycelial growth were 23~29℃ and 6~8. Regarding starch as carbon source, Potassium nitrate as nitrogen source and place under continuous dark was optimum for mycelial growth. Regarding lactose as carbon source, Potassium nitrate as nitrogen source, and...
