| In this research, the materials for test were 35 species of bamboo which were taken in the Botanical Garden for hundred species of bamboos in Yiyang, Hunan. Tissue measurements, fiber contents, the length (L), width (W), and L/W of these bamboo species were compared. The main results were as follows:1. For majority of the materials in this study, the length of the fiber is long and L/W is also big, so these materials would become to fine fiber material. The fiber of the middle of bamboo is long, and the LAV is also big. But the fiber of the top is short; the L/W is also small.The fiber exists completely on Bundle, exterior Bundles of bamboos are small, but they are extremely crowded. The structure of them is close. In addition, the cell wall of fiber is thick, cavity diameter is very small, therefore in the process of manufacturing bamboo pulp, liquid medicines are hard to seep into the bamboo wood, and it is hard to enhance the quality of the bamboo pulp. The fiber tissue measurement of all species of bamboo are between 31.60% and 56.55%,in process of manufacturing fine bamboo pulp, the bamboos which have high fiber tissue measurement should be chosen. The fiber contents of all the species in this research are above 40%, therefore these bamboos are all suitable to the material for papermaking.2. Compares with other textile fiber, the fiber of bamboo woods is relatively short, the width and L/W is general. Although the fiber length and L/W of tufted bamboos are both obviously bigger than them of scattered bamboos, and the fiber of tufted bamboos is more suitable for textile than scattered bamboos. The fiber of bamboo woods turning into textile fiber, it must be turned into craft textile fiber first.3. Some experimental conclusions might provide the important reference for discriminating the bamboo fiber and other kinds of fiber:(1) The length of bamboo fiber is obviously short than the ramie fiber. Therefore, it may be used to discriminate bamboo fiber and ramie fiber.(2) The tubercles of the hemp textile fiber, specially the ramie fiber, are extremely obvious. But the tubercles of bamboo fiber are very few. |
