(Cynodon dactylon) perennial grass, distributoing widely in the world, with abundant variation, was an important turfgrass germplasm resource. The seven bermudagrass materials of Xinjiang were studied to evaluate the genetic diversity on morphological and protein levels, and to assess the turf quality in field experiment as well.The results showed:1. Among seven bermudagrass materials of Xinjiang, thirteen main morphological traits varied significantly, and had bundant morphological diversity. Morphological variations of nutrient organs in which coefficient of average variations was 0.150 were higher than those in reproductive organs with 0.057 of average variation coefficient.2. Based on the cluster analysis of main morphological characteritics, the seven materials were grouped into three types: The main characteristics of second type was low plant, slim leaf, high desity, short and slim shoot; the main characteristics of third type was tall plant, wide leaf, small desity, high and thick shoot; The first type was between two. The leaf layer height, the reproductive shoot height, the stolon length and so on, were chief standards to disthinguish bermudagrass.3. Seven bermudagrass materials of Xinjiang were examined by four kinds of isozyme such as POD, EST, SOD and so on .The result was showed: The genetic diversity was high; At Euclidean distance 2.21, the seven materials were grouped into three types: The first type was including bermudagrass Xinnong NO.2,Xinjiang bermudagrassC2,Xinjiang bermudagrassC4 and bermudagrass Kashi; The second type was including Xinjiang bermudagrassC3 and Xinjiang bermudagrassC5. The third type was including bermudagrass Xinnong NO.1. In the four kinds of isozyme, EST, having had the highest diversity ,was suitable to disthinguish the ecotype of Xinjiang bermudagrass among species.4.Based on the cluster analysis of seed storage protein, the result was showed : The genetic diversity was high; At Euclidean distance 1.47, the seven materials were grouped into two types: The first type was including bermudagrass Xinnong NO.2,Xinjiang bermudagrassC3 and bermudagrass Kashi; The second type was including Xinjiang bermudagrassC2,Xinjiang bermudagrassC4,Xinjiang bermudagrassC5 and Xinnong bermudagrass NO.1.5.The result of the turf quality assessment was similar with the analysis of morphological characteritics. The result was showed: bermudagrass Xinnong NO.2 had highest score, and was suitable for the turf; Xinjiang bermudagrassC5 had lowest score, and was suitable for the pasture, water and soil conservation; while the left could be used for both of two.
