Research And Utilization Of Chinese Jujube Germplasm Resources

The germplasm resources are the base of fruit industry. They are very important on keeping species diversity, satisfying people's demands of high quality fruits and supplying fruit all year around, and also are the needs of innovating of agricultural science and technology and strengthening national power.This thesis includes 3 sections. Section 1: Research on fruit tree germplasm resources in the world, in which the significance of study on fruit tree germplasm resources, it's developing trend and the general research situation in the world and China is introduced respectively. Section 2: Research of jujube germplasm resources in China, in which origin and distribution of jujube in China, and 6 forms of Z. jujube Mill, 10 methods of jujube cultivar classification are comprehensively introduced. On the basis of collection, preservation and utilization of jujube resources. 37 characteristic local cultivars and lots of distinctive resources are discussed and some cultivars are recommended for commercial production, in which 7 for fresh use, 5 for drying, 6 for fresh /drying and 3 for ornament. Twenty cultivars selected from orchards and nice cultivar Jinsixin 4 bred from seedling lines are introduced. Five problems in research and utilization of jujube in China are discussed. Section 3: Strategies and prospect on research and utilization of jujube in China, in which 5 strategies are presented based on the current situation of jujube germplasm resources research.
