| Objective: Studying the morphology and effective ingredients dynamical accumulation of Echinacea purpurea (L.) Moench cultivated,to provide much perferter and detailed particulars for further develoption.Methods : Observe the original plant appearances from the fields. According to the Pharmacopoeia of the People's Republic of China(Edition 2010),the external appearance and internal tissue structure of its roots,stems,leavies,flowers,fruits (seeds) were adopted to observe; The external morphology of leavies,fruits(seeds) and pollen of the E. purpurea (L.) Moench from Tongcheng were examined under SEM; HPLC was used to anlaly the natural change rule of active components of E.purpurea (L.) Moench of different growth time in its whole life by measuring content of cichoric acid; The content of total polyphenol in E. purpurea (L.) Moench of different growth time in its whole life was determinated by Folin-Ciocalteu's Colorimetry.Results: provide the appearances of original plant from the fields.The external appearance of every part of the medicinal herb were submitted, the tissue structure of E. purpurea (L.) Moench cultivated were given, the specificity powder characteristics of microscopic identification of its flowers and other organs were described; compared the differences of microcosmic surface structure of E.purpurea (L.) Moench between different areas;Monitored the content of chicory acid and total polyphenol in the growth cycle; Also investigated the effect of the harvest seasons, the different medicinal parts, the drying methods, growth ages and other factors on the quality of Echinacea. Judging from the accumulation of active components.Conclusion: Morphological study of E. purpurea (L.) Moench herbs provided much more completed and comprehensive identification information; the harvest seasons, the different medicinal parts,the drying methods, growth ages and other factors on the quality all affected the quality of E.purpurea (L.) Moench; the best harvest season was in full bloom in summer, the best drying method for the above ground was dried in sun, two years old was better than one year old,and so on. Provide a scientific basis for accumulation of active components in the E. purpurea (L.) Moench's growth.At the same time, laid the foundation for the development and application of E. purpurea (L.)
