Abstract/Summary:
With the development of economic and culture as well as the continuous improvement for the quality of people's life, flower decoration is becoming more and more common in people's daily lives. Dried flowers produced by vacuum freeze drying method have a unique ornamental effect which is not comparable by other methods. But however those flowers dried with vacuum freeze have a common problem that the flower itself is fragile and easily broken. Meanwhile, flower will absorb moisture and become moldy if it is left in the air, which will seriously influence the ornament, transportation and storage of dried flowers and decrease their economic benefits Therefore, three kinds of peony: Jinge, Luoyang Red and Mojin which with high ornamental value are chosen as the experiment material in this topic. The rigidity, texture, flatness and variation of color and shape of petals are selected as the evaluation factors to research soften & shape preserve technique of petals. And texture analyzer is used for checking the texture of flowers. Main parameters of ultrasonic atomizing soften & shape preserve technique are determined, and gained the best soften & shape preserve method after the analyzing and researching in this experiment. The main achievements of this experiment are as follows:(1) A very good soften & shape preserve result can be achieved by using ultrasonic atomizing method to spray -coat soften & shape preserve solution on peony petals.(2) Due to the time of drying process after flowers'soften treatment is too long, the economic benefits is quite low, so it is necessary to improve the program of this experiment. However, the drying time can be significantly shortened if soften treatment is implemented after drying; further more, the color & shape preserve result of dried flowers are also better.(3) There is little difference of the treatment after softening for dried flowers of Luoyang red, Jinge and Mojin. The soften & shape preserve result is the best after 4 times treatment by soften & shape preserve solution with concentration of 7%, and also the rigidity, texture, flatness and color of petals are the best. The result of texture analyzer also proved the above conclusion. In texture analyzing result, the piercing strength of petals, tensile strength of both petals and whole flower are all reached max values after 4 times treatment by soften & shape preserve solution with concentration of 7%, which indicated the hardness and toughness of petals are the best among all kinds of methods.(4) It is found in the texture analyzing result that the tensile strength results of dried flowers are different due to different stretching methods. The stretching process is mainly consisted of petal breaking in the middle and snap breaking. In comparison, stretching of whole flower is much more complicated, which contains three kinds of different snap breaking types and three kinds of different stretching methods. Operation procedures should be unified in the experiment in order to obtain a more scientific data.
