The Evaluation Of Several Small Grain Crops And High Sugar Ryegrass

By forage cutting, analyze the performance and nutritional properties of forage in the Yellow River Irrigation and Loess Plateau experimentation areas. By five cuttings, evaluate the feeding potential of three lacal crops,spring wheat(Triticum aestivum L.),oat (Avena sativa L.) and rye (Secale cereale L.) in the Yellow River Irrigation experimentation area. By six cuttings,the adaptability of four ryegrass varieties were valued in the Loess Plateau experimentation area.In the same time, analyze the effect of difference sowing time on the three local crops, millet (Panicum miliaceum L.),oat (Avena sativa L.) and rye (Secale cereale L.) in this experimentation area.The aim of this research is to compare forage production performance and provide the possibility to improve agricultural structure.The main results showed as follow:(1)Small grain cropIn the Yellow River River Irrigation experimentation area, by five cutting in the all growth season, the seed yield(7.73tDM/hm") and water use efficiency(9.67tDM/hm-) of spring wheat are significant higher than nutriment(P<0.05). The forage yield and water us efficiency of oat (9.37tDM/hm2,11.71kg/hm2·mm)and rye(8.38tDM/hm2,10.48kg/hm2·mm) are significant higher than seed yield(P<0.05). For protein yield,oat was the highest,about 1371kg/hm2 and spring wheat was the lowest,about 902 kg/hm2.For ether extract yield,oat was the highest,about 333 kg/hm2 and spring wheat was the lowest,about 191 kg/hm2.The relationg of nutriment yield between three crops is oat>rye>spring wheat,the relation of seed yield between three crops is spring wheat>oat>rye.The advise is that spring wheat for seed production,oat for nutriment and seed,rye for nutriment.In the Loess Plateau experimentation area, the yield and water use efficiency of three crops were declined.The first sowing date at 21,July,2011,the yield (1.53tDM/hm2) and water use efficiency (27.85 kg/hm2·mm) of millet are the highest, the yield(0.5tDM/hm2) and water use efficiency (9.04kg/hm2·mm) of rye are the lowest.The relationg between three crops is millet>oat>rye.The millet and oat should be sowed before the middle of August.or will be have an negative effect on production performance.The rye should be sowed before August,or will be have an negative effect on growth.(2)High sugar ryegrassIn the Loess Plateau experimentation area, by six cutting in the all growth season,the yield and water use efficiency of three high water-soluble-sugar ryegrasses are high.The yield (3.63tDM/hm2)and water use efficiency(3.88 kg/hm2·mm), of AberStar are the highest.The relation between four ryegrass is AberStar> Premium>AberMagic>AberAvon.For protein yield,the highest is AberStar,about 589kg/hm2,the protein yield of other varities is between 390-495kg/hm2.For ether extract yield,the highest is AberStar,about 132kg/hm2, the ether extract yield of other varities is between 86-117kg/hm2.The high sugar ryegrass can grow in Loess Plateau.They can be cultived for forage production because of having high yield and nutritional value.
