In order to guide scientific and reasonable irrigation management and guarantee landscape effect of living wall, this paper investigated living wall in Shanghai city, and studied which factors influence landscape effect of living wall and optimazed these factors, what's more, it studied evapotranspiration and water-saving irrigation for four species of living wall plants.1.From March and May in 2010,26 living walls were investigated, and results show:using plants 61 species, related to 34 family and 47 genus,42 species of herb and 19 species of wood plants; two growing media, soil and mixing media(contains soil, perlite and grass carbon) are used the most, reached 69.2percentage; mainly using two irrigation forms:artificial irrigation and automatic irrigation; landscape effect can't holds on for long; and there are three forms of living wall.2.After the drought resistance, irrigation level and plant cultivation media 3 factors mixed level orthogonal tests, the research result indicates that:in the June 1-August 31 and June 1-October 31 two stages, cultivation media all choose natural soil for beautiful, but after mixing media no significant difference with natural soil, so you can judge to use; Soil moisture appropriate chooses 100%-40% maximum water, in this moisture conditions, plants can grow up healthily and longer maintain good landscape effect; the first stage, plant material appropriate chooses Abelia×grandiflora and Photinia×fraseri, for these kinds'landscape behaved well, the second phase appropriate chooses Photinia×fraseri, which can be in various water conditions and cultivation media conditions to maintain good landscape effect.3.For four kind of living wall plants'evapotranspiration test and water-saving irrigation test, data analysis results show that:(1) 4 plant every four irrigation levels, a total of 16 processing, their evapotranspiration curve are in August single-peak type, different months'evapotranspiration all achieve significant differences. The most evapotranspiration is 459.14mm for Abelia×grandiflora, 440.25mm for Lonicera ligustrina var. yunnanensis,417.52mm for Photinia×fraseri, and 347.78mm for Sedum lineare from June to October. (2) By the evapotranspiration rule and plants'growing condition, water-saving irrigation level for Sedum lineare is 50%-25% maximum capacity, and other three species is 40%-25% maximum amount of water. Result of the third research contains the second research's result, and it makes sure the test results is scientific.
