In this experiment, dairy cows were fed alfalfa hay of different length, and replacement parts of concentrate by whole cottonseed in the TMR diet to study that effect of TMR diet of alfalfa hay of different lengths and replace 2 kilograms concentrate by whole cottonseed 2 kilograms in TMR on the production performance of dairy cows.Experiment I:Effect of Different Length of Alfalfa Hay in TMR on Performance of Dairy Cows. This experiment Analysis the effect of different length of alfalfa hay in TMR on milk yield and milk composition of dairy cows.40 healthy Holstein cows were selected, which have the similar milk yield, days in milk, fatness and parity, they were divided into two groups randomly,20 cows in each group, Group 1 was fed with the length of 2.52 cm alfalfa hay in TMR, Group 2 was 6.46 cm. This experiment included two periods (P1, P2), P1 forage to concentrate ratio of diets 20:80, P2 of 30:70 forage to concentrate diet. Using two-ways repeated ANOVA test design. There was on significant difference on milk yield and 4% fat corrected milk between G1 and G2 in two periods (P>0.05), but dry matter intake of cows was significant (P<0.05). G1 increased 18.36% and 7.40% compared with G2 on dry matter intake of cows in two experiment periods (P<0.05).As for milk protein, G2 was higher than G1 (P<0.01), increased 11.82% compared with G1 in the first period. As for milk fat, G1 was higher than G2 (P<0.05), increased 8.89% compared with G2 in the second period. And milk fat content of G1 was significantly higher than the G2 (P <0.01), increased 18.18% compared with G1 in the second period. Other milk components were compared not significantly different in the two groups (P<0.05). Therefore, this study suggests that dairy production practices in the different TMR diet nutrition should use different lengths of alfalfa hay.Experiment II:Effects of Whole Cottonseed Replacement Parts Concentrate inTMR on the Production Performance of Dairy Cows in Late Lactation. This experiment selected healthy and similar milk yield (Holstein cows 15.88±4.16 kg, brown cows 16.47±5.54 kg), days in milk (Holstein cows 204.40±67.38 days, brown cows 192.52±70.82 days), fatness, parity (2-3), Holstein cows 30, brown cows 25, used of self reference method, Dairy cows was fed conventionally TMR in control period at cattle farms, but 2 kg whole cottonseed replaced the same amount of concentrate in TMR that fed dairy cows in experimental period compared with the control period. Milk fat percentage, lactose percentage of dairy cows in experimental period was significantly higher than the control period (P<0.01), Milk fat of brown cows and Holstein cows increased 9.09% and 8.70%; Holstein cows and the brown cattle lactose rate by 2.82% and 7.98%;Milk fat content of Holstein cows in experimental period was significantly higher than the control period(P<0.01),increased 13.41%;Lactose content of Holstein cows in experimental period was significant higher than the control period(P<0.05), increased 6.06%;SNF of of brown cows in experimental period was significantly higher than the control period(P<0.01),increased 9.61%;Milk production, dry matter intake, milk protein had a rising trend, but there was no significant compared with the experimental period (P>0.05).In late lactation of dairy cows, replacing 2 kg concentrate by 2 kg whole cottonseed in TMR fed cows could increase milk fat and lactose, but the somatic cell counts and other milk composition was not significant (P>0.05). End experiment Holstein cows increased their income, but the brown cattle income decreased, indicating that the use of whole cottonseed replaced concentrate to improve milk quality, could improve the economic efficiency of Holstein cows. Therefore, this study suggests that using whole cottonseed replaced by concentrate in TMR can be used generally in production of Holstein cows.
