The impact of benzoylphenylurea insecticides (BPUs), including chlorfluazuron, diflubenzuron, hexaflumuron and lufenuron, on development, fecundity and reproductive behaviour of Asian corn borer, Ostrinia furnacalis (Guenee), were investigated by leaf immersion with treating the 1st larvae at LC30 concentration and the 30 adult fed with sugar solution with BPUs. The results showed that:The influence of insecticides on growth and development of Asian corn borer, Ostrinia furnacalis (Guenee)The BPUs had adverse effects on the development of Asian corn borer, Ostrinia furnacalis (Guenee). The survival larval duration prolonged 2.7-4.3 d, the max is hexaflumuron and the second is lufenuron; after treated with BPUs, female and male pupal weight depress obviously to compare with CK, it decreased 10.3-11.6 mg and 0-7.7 mg, respectively, and the female weight of Asian corn borer, Ostrinia furnacalis (Guenee) treated by hexaflumuron is the lightest. The BPUs had adverse effects on the development of Asian corn borer, Ostrinia furnacalis (Guenee). The survival larval duration prolonged 2.7-4.3 d, the max was hexaflumuron and the second was lufenuron; after treating with BPUs, female and male pupal weight depressed obviously to compare with CK, it decreased 10.3-11.6 mg and 0-7.7 mg, respectively, and the female weight of Asian corn borer, Ostrinia furnacalis (Guenee) treated by hexaflumuron was the lightest, was only 0.00896g, was significantly lower than CK,and the decrease of male weight treated with chlorfluazuron contrasting to CK was biggest, lufenuron followed it. In addition, there was the significant adverse impact on the pupating rate, it decreased by 14.1-43.3%. The pupating rate of larvae treated with lufenuron was only 55.00%, was the minimum.and descended 44.07% contrasting to CK, and the second is lufenuron. But the emergencing rate did not significantly changed. The impact of insecticides on reproduction of Asian corn borer, Ostrinia furnacalis (Guenee)After treating the 1st larvae of Asian corn borer, Ostrinia furnacalis (Guenee), the mating success rate of survival adults was influenced. The impact of lufenuron was the greatest, the hexaflumuron's was the second. The mating success rate of female and male moths treated with lufenuron was only 41.11% and was minimum. The result show that the impact of this insecticides (BPUs) in male was more obvious than in female adults, but the difference was quiet. The eggs laid per female have been restrained and it reduced 25.5-53.3%. The influence of hexaflumuron was the greatest, the egg of male and female moths both treated with hexaflumuron was the minimum, was only 230.0 pill. It decreased 53.30%. lufenuron's followed it and the inpact of diflubenzuron was the smallest. When female and male moths fed with sugar solution with BPUs, the reproduction was obviously suppressed. Although adult life span increased 1.3-4.3 d, oviposition and hatching rate decreased 40.3-58.1% and 32.9-64.3%, respectively, and the larvae mortalities F1 generation were 3.5-8.5-fold higher than the control moths fed with sugar water only. The impact of insecticides on reproductive behaviour of Asian corn borer, Ostrinia furnacalis (Guenee)After treating the 1st larvae of Asian corn borer, Ostrinia furnacalis (Guenee) with BPUs, the courtship behavior of the surviving female was inhibited. The Courtship percentage of the surviving female treated with insecticides droped in the first scotophase, and the influence of chlorfluazuron was the max,its percentage was only 29.87%, but the impact of diflubenzuron was the minimum. The peak calling did not effect by the insecticide treatment, occurred at 8-10h after the initiation of scotophase. In addition, the durations was obviously lower than CK. The impact of chlorfluazuron was the max, its average responses times cannot reach 2 h, lufenuron's was the second. The orientation behaviour of the surviving male moths to sex pheromone lures were also effected in wind tunnel assays. The no-responses rate of the surviving male moths to sex pheromone lures raised 13.34%-31.67%, and the influence of lufenuron was the max. The responses rate of male moths treated with lufenuron to sex pheromone lures was the lowest, depressed 31.67% contracting to CK. But the effect of hexaflumuron on orientating flight was most obvious. And the approaching and source contacting rate of the surviving male moths treated were only 46.67%,43.33%, the group of lufenuron were51.67%, 50.00%. These rate were lower than CK. Ifluence of diflubenzuron on approaching and source contacting sex pheromone lures was mininum, and the rate of approaching did not significantly changed. |
