With the development of transgenic technology, GMCs as raw material were used in feed industry, and the safety of GMCs in feed was aroused the public attention. This paper was conducted to studied the safety of the Glyphosate-tolerant soybean used in feed.720 AA broilers at 1d age were randomly divided into four groups and each group had 5 replications (each had 36 broilers), they were fed with diets containing genetically modified soybean or conventional soybean meals which had soybean 36%/34% and 27%/25% respectively. It was determined broilers' performance, serum biochemical parameters, organ indices, indicators of immune function, and detected foreign gene in the organs of broilers. The result of analysis of nutrition composition of the genetically modified soybean and conventional soybean showed that the two soybeans was not equivalent to each other, especially in the content of CP and EE. A further study by compareing the performance, serum biochemical indicators and organs development, showed that GM groups at two levels compared with the respective control group were no differences at 21 d on production performance, serum biochemical indicators and organs development; two GM groups were higher than their control groups at the body weight gain and average feed intake at 42 d; the GPT and AKP content in the serum and the ingluvies index of broilers both had significant differences between the two groups which contained soybean 36%/34% at 42 d. There was no significant difference in the other indicators between the last groups. And there was no significant difference between the two GM groups on the production performance, serum biochemical indicators and organs development. The experiment was study the effect of genetically modified soybean on the immune response in broilers, the results showed that there were no significant differences on immune organs between the groups contained soybean 36%/35% and the groups contained 27%/25% at 21 d; but the bursa index was significant differences between the groups contained soybean 36%/34% at 42 d and the rest were no significantly between the other groups; there were no between the groups on the ALB and ALB/GLOB (P>0.05) during the period except the GLOB at 42d between the group contained 27%/25% soybean; the ND and Lysozyme were no significant differences between the groups during the study; the results indicated that the effect of genetically modified soybean in diet on proliferation of peripheral blood lymphocyte and peripheral blood T cell subsets in broilers were not significant differences at 42 d. And there was no significant difference between the two GM groups on the immune response except Lysozyme at 42 d. PCR method was used to detect the residual foreign gene in the 8 organs including liver, kidney, spleen, breast muscle, leg muscle, duodenum, jejunum and ileum samples. The foreign components were found only in genetically modified soybean, but were not found in the organs and muscles. The safety of transgenic crops research is a long and arduous work and how to choose typical indicators and methods to evaluate the safety remains to be explored. Our experiment provides some basis for the evaluation of the safety of genetically modified crops, and it is of great significance.
