This article studied on the basis of Platyciadus orientalis(L.) Franco in Shandong Province. This study through arborvitae growth, cold tolerance, drought resistance analysis, based ,Shandong Shandong arborvitae species suitable source selection, and then for the provenance division.The main conclusions are as follows :1. Growth index of different provenances of P.orientalis and good provenance selection.(1). The differences of Inter-regional and Provenances are Significantly. Area around the point of difference between the groups was not significant, The Duncan test results that: Platyciadus orientalis in Zaozhuang are better than the overall growth of the original in Pingyin. The average diameter was 10.46cm, 9.35cm, 8.01cm, respectively. Site conditions of yuanshan and Pingyin are similar, but experimental forest orientalis Pingyin overall growth better than the original provenance in yuanshan.(2) .The Duncan and cluster analysis of Growth index from the three locations displaied: Shandong Tai'an, Shandong Feicheng,and Shandong Weishan are the best provenances, Shandong Pingyin, Shandong Qufu, and other parts of areas in Central and southern of Shandong, Most species of the provenances of Henan, Jiangsu, Xuzhou, Jiangsu Tongshan provenance is also relatively good in addition.2.
