A total of 18 sows(Yorkshire)with the similar reproductive conditions were used to investigate the effects of Allples on reproductive performance, the concentration of trace elements in colostrum, immune function, antioxidant capability, the concentration of Hb and the concentration of reproductive hormones in pregnancy sows. These sows were allocated to three treatments(6 sows per treatment) randomly. Representing supplementation with O(control),1000 and 2000 mg/kg Allples to the same basal diet till to parturition. Reproductive performance and the concentration of trace elements in colostrum were measured. At the 75th and 110th day of pregnancy, six sows'blood samples from each treatment were obtained for serum immunoglobulin, antioxidant indices and reproductive hormones mensuration, the concentration of Hb in blood was measured, also. The results showed that, compared with the control group, supplementation with 1000 and2000 mg/kg Allples increased the survival rate of piglet, the concentration of Fe,Se in colostrum and the concentrations of serum IgG(P<0.05), supplementation with 1000 mg/kg Allples increased the activities of serum GSH-Px in the sows on the 110th day of pregnancy(P<0.05), supplementation with 2000 mg/kg Allples increased the activities of serum GSH-Px in the sows on the 75th day of pregnancy(P<0.05), supplementation with 1000 and2000 mg/kg Allples increased the concentrations of blood Hb in the sows on the 110th day of pregnancy(P<0.05), supplementation with 1000 and2000 mg/kg Allples increased the concentrations of serum estrogen in the sows on the 75th day of pregnancy(P<0.05) and decreased the concentrations of serum progesterone in the sows on the 110th day of pregnancy(P<0.05). These findings indicated that dietary Apples supplementation for pregnancy sows may improve reproductive performance, the immune function, the antioxidant capacity, the concentration of serum reproductive hormones and the concentration of blood Hb of sows. However, there was no significant differences between supplementation with 1000 mg/kg group and2 000 mg/kg group.
